Taal Volcano is a large caldera filled by Taal Lake in the Philippines. Located in the province of Batangas, the volcano is the second-most active volcano in the Philippines, with 34 recorded historical eruptions, all of which were concentrated on Volcano Island, near the middle of Taal Lake.

I know I've mentioned this before, but I've been working on panoramas quite a bit recently, and I really kind of like this 1:2 crop.
This was from a foggy autumn morning at South Falls (Silver Falls State Park) as you probably guessed. Nothing terribly Earth-shattering here, but I did have to wait around about an hour for the light to get really good.
Thanks for giving it a peep.
This is a bit of an experimental shot, a kind of high end pinhole camera - using a roughly torn hole in a piece of card hovering in front of the lens to create the vignette and knock back the distracting highlights around the edges.
One of the most amazing light rays shows I have ever experienced. This was taken as a storm rolled in at Roan Mountain on Cloudland Trail.
Decided to head down to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque a while back and I was hopefull to get some light rays and a starburst at the back of the mosque. Not the exactly the result I was hoping for, but I thought I'd share this one. Enjoy!
Light rays shine upon the bedroom of a wealthy settler who once lived in what is now historic Old Town San Diego, California, USA. I applied vintage-color, post-processing treatments to this picture I took several years ago.
Instead, this sunset was brought to you by US-151 southbound somewhere near Cascade or Monticello, IA, I think. The localized rain illuminated by the last rays of light, which had just been blocked by the clouds and hills prior to rolling into town made this a no-brainer shot out the car window. Taken on 6/7/24.
Every time I come home to Southern California via the Grapevine and Interstate 5, I notice how beautiful the rolling hills of the San Emigdio mountains are as you approach the Tejon Pass from the north--and also note that it's a tough spot to get a good pic, and I never seem to time it when the light is really good. This weekend, however, storm clouds moving over the mountains in late afternoon cast some nice dramatic light, and the hills have begun to green up (as they do in the winter) from all the rain we've had recently. I found a good spot where I could take aim at the edges of Tejon Ranch, and made the most of the light before continuing on home.
Originally a black & white 35mm image, I used photoshop for the toned effect.
btw, those streaks of light are nothing to do with photoshop, just gifts from nature :)
Late in the day as the sun sinks behind the mountain at Monterosso Beach on the Italian Riviera - Cinque Terre, Italy.
The last weekend of October provided a wonderful morning of clear skies with sun splitting rays shining lingering fog!
I have been to this spot over 10 times and have never seen another human. This spot always feels magical for some reason.
Black and white capture of my cat pepper staring outside a window. I experimented with making his eyes have color and nothing else (an effect I've done a few times). But this effect didn't look too good in this photo.
For some reason, my photos of pepper seem to turn out really good in black and white. I think they mainly turn out good because he's a cat, he is just is naturally cute no matter what.
A misty morning at Forth Baech during my Kurt Budliger workshop a few weeks ago. I cannot wait to go back to this area... SO good. This was a single expoure shot around 8:00am?
