Light rays break through storm clouds over the green glacial waters of the Lustrafjord in Skjolden, Norway
Whilst editing this shot I thought the break in the clouds looked like a pair of eyes - but maybe just my crazy imagination - I will leave you to decide! HFF!
Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Washington
Sometimes it is hard to find light in a world that seems endlessly filled with the darkness of violence and war and hate. Sometimes hope feels obscured by the fog of worry and fear.
Always I am thankful for the rays of light when they manage to break through.
We were out for a walk at the river "Tiroler Ache" near Schleching. The light and the haze in the mountains gave the whole scene a magic atmosphere. And she was on her way...
Schleching
A shaft of light caught my eye as it broke thru the stormy clouds on a peak above Jackson Lake.
Thanks for taking a look.
Sky Tower, Auckland.
Hi, I am back!
This was a truly captivating experience to see the sunset from the main observation level(186m) in the Sky Tower, a spectacular 360 degree to see the wonders of Auckland.
Captured this before a window, and no photoshop.
A misty October morning in The Lady’s Walk, Montacute, Somerset, rays of sunlight pierce through the branches of the beech trees, giving a magical atmosphere.
A wider version of a forest near Tiers in the Dolomites (South-Tyrol).

Thick clouds filtering the sunlight rays, spot lighting the manicured landscape, complete with swirling leaves, Unreal beauty

The last rays of sunlight stream through narrow canyon walls, lighting up an autumn meadow in golden warmth, before the cold night comes.

Its always nice when you come across a fellow Flickr member when out shooting ... even if it is windy and raining :))
On our recent visit the Lake District we were lucky enough to stay near Penrith in The Eden Valley. The Pennines looked like this on the first morning we were there.
Have had this one kicking around on the hard drive all winter. Not perfect by any means but i quite liked the rays cutting the morning fog. Danes Dyke, Yorkshire, UK.
f/13, 56 mm, 1/5 at ISO 100. Manual exposure & 2 sec timer
Aunque hay modos de simular los rayos mediante edición, siempre es preferible fotografiarlos en la realidad, solo que es bastante difícil verlos.
Muchas gracias por la visita.

Graffiti or vandalism? Most were handwritten names, people who I image just want to leave a silent mark. But, more than that, there was naughty words and drawings that I had to painstakingly remove so this image could be rated PG. It saddens me really that when given a "canvas" people chose to express themselves with vulgarity.
The sky was absolutely amazing during golden hour. This fisherman proved a great focal point against this sky!
I peeked into this folder from months ago that I had written off as a failure and scrounged this one out of it. It was my first time trying out my 100-400, and I made some technical errors with the exposures, but I had done some exposure stacking on this image so once I tweaked it and merged the exposures in Photoshop it wasn't so bad. I think I was originally really disappointed that the foreground was blown out black, but looking at it again, maybe it adds to the composition having that layer of black in front. The view is from Bessie Butte a ways up and on the north side facing west. Mt Bachelor is the obscured Mountain on the right side.

I've been on the Bantiger again today and it was really amazing. We just walked at the upper fog limit and the sun shone through the fog into the forest.

If you know the Peak District then you know these two trees:)
Owler bar, Peak District Derbyshire /South Yorkshire
Down by the creek, it was a new day and a new season. The air was heavy with mist and the early morning sun was cutting through the woods. Another day to appreciate.

View from the fortress / castle on the small island of Virgin Mary near the center of Parga town where you can by water running or swimming, have not done that seemed not so handy with the camera with me :-)
