Snowfall over night created an absolutely amazing winter landscape. I was so lucky to see the spectacular crepuscular rays ‘Angel Rays’ as the dark moody sky passed over Leather Tor.
It can be a little ugly getting up at 4:00am but it was worth it!

Foggy morning and clear sky in the "Forêt de Rambouillet". A perfect place and time for an enchanting walk.

Update 11/9/23: There was a multi-car collision this evening just meters away from the trees pictured above, at the entrance to the Martinazzi Square on SW Warm Springs St.

This picture does not do this sunset justice. I didn't have my camera and forgot the settings on the S3. So, you have to believe me. It was incredible to behold.
All our neighbors where outside watching it too. Next door they got up on their roof. People in the streets. It was one of those special times of yelling over fences to talk about it with each other. The entire sky was golden. Everyone was really excited to be a part of something so special.
Here is another one from my contact Jon, from the next town over. He got the sun still in the frame.
Another view from another town can be seen in oldwirld's stream here
So this is an image that's totally different for me. A friend of mine and I were shooting sunrise the other morning and the fog was just CRAZY thick. After the sun came up the fog started to lift, but was still hanging around in the trees. It created some surreal scenes like this. This to me looks like a painting!
One single long exposure. No photoedition : straight out of the camera except for contrast/crop.

A breath-taking winter sunset casts a golden glow over the snow covered horizon on the bank of semi-frozen Saint-Lawrence river, illuminating the snow-covered rocks and dried vegetation in the foreground. A lone kayaker paddles through the calm, icy waters, creating a serene and adventurous atmosphere. The image represents the beauty of winter solitude, and outdoor exploration in tranquillity.
The Renaissance-style castle, built in about 1550, was remade into a monastery for the Pauline friars in 1663. Later it was owned by the Counts of Attems and since several decades the monastery has been managed by Minorite monks.
The church was added In the years 1665-1675. On the ground floor of the tower in the middle of the image is the monastery's greatest treasure: a 17th-century pharmacy painted with religious and medical scenes.
The picture was taken from the entrance to the herb and vegetable garden, where medicinal herbs are still being cultivated.
Shafts of light penetrate the otherwise grey overcast sky on an early Autumn afternoon in the Peak District. The village of Hathersage with Hope and its infamous cement works in the distance, and the recognisable landscape of the Great Ridge and Win Hill off to the right
From the Forest Park Velika and Mala Petka in Dubrovnik, you can get a remarkable view of the Adriatic Coast and the adorable "Croissant Islands" at sunset. A worth detour for any trip to the old town of Dubrovnik.
Autumn sunset can be quite dramatic in the Salish Sea area of western Washington state. This shot was taken from Lummi Island looking west towards Orcas Island.

This was the last beam I shot, and by this time my head was spinning. Definitely bring water with you! I went with Adventurous Antelope Canyon Tours because the owner, Carol Bigthumb, has a reputation for being organized. They have a photographer's tour and you get priority for shooting. What you don't get is the ability to move around much-they line you up, wide angle lenses on the ground in front, other lenses in back, and you shoot from your designated spot while the guide tosses sand into the beams. It's definitely worth doing once.
Beautiful clouds last month when we were walking at Lindo Lake in Lakeside, California. It has the elements that I always look for, but don't always get, clouds vegetation and water.
I've been doing infrared photography since 2002, and other infrared images that I've posted on Flickr can be seen in my creatively named Infrared album which has over 700 images in it.

I used NIK Software's Silver Efex Pro 2 to convert the infrared image to black and white. I have an album with over 200 black and white images in my Black And White Album.

This is the interior view of the upper (fourth) level of the Arbed Steel Works at the Terres Rouges industrial site on the French-Luxembourg border. The building dates from 1900-1920. It was taken at sunset. I left this place covered head to toe in red iron ore dust...
