The art deco finial of a light tower pole stands out against the sky in Altoona, PA. The light pole and several others like it were built at Altoona by the Pennsylvania Railroad for use in their exhibit at the 1939-40 World's Fair, which were later repurposed to light the Altoona yards. In the background are Norfolk Southern's Juniata Shops, along with a deadline of locomotives awaiting rebuilding.
