Friday nights belong to High School football around these parts....

Let this be a cautionary tale to any of you kids out there on the dangers of Procrastination. This is what might happen to YOU, if you wait until the last day of the week to try and get a picture for "Magic Light". You invariably get the shittiest day of the week.

And by the way, Matt is out of town (with no computer access), so I had to let him know what the challenge of the week is in advance. Please see the discussion board for next weeks topic. Sorry if I stepped on anyones toes and went out of turn.

Thomas J. Atkins was licensee of the Waratah Hotel from 1906 to 1919.

Original Waratah hotel burnt down in 1926 but was rebuilt. Going by this page which dates telegraph poles, it would appear that this photo predates the similar view in the comment box below.

(© 2008 Príamo Melo) It's almost impossible (at least for me) to get the right exposure for both the moon and foreground interest, simultaneously, in shots like this. Therefore, I made a double exposure, one for the moon and another for the light pole, and merged them later in post-production.
