Hi, everybody! I've been away for a bit and have barely taken any new photos since I was here last. In fact this bizarre pic was taken back in May. I'm hoping to get out of my self-induced funk soon. Hope you're all doing swell! xo

The Ricoh-Pentax fuck-up (as I call the latest developments in the vicissitudes of the brand) has suddenly brought to the closing of the two historic Pentax Square official shops in Japan. Despite communications aiming at minimizing the dismay from the side of Ricoh, the feeling is that of a complete unplanned or undisclosed fuck-up, with the a freezing or suspension of all the Pentax related activities (nobody is clearly saying it, but that is the feeling). Anyway, following the closing of the shop, they did a couple of days of super-sales and outlet liquidation of part of their exhibition items. Telling the truth, I never though - even in my wildest dreams, as they say - or even only considered getting my hands on this lens, both for its stellar price and also for its size. But this time the chance was of the kind of those you never gonna see again in your life, and despite not really for peanuts (and with some psychological-economic concern), we deliberated for the acquisition. And with this huge stud, we brought away also a new DFA 85mm f1.4 (silver edition). The zoom was an exhibition item, with only a slight aesthetic wear on the hood. The prime, instead, was boxed and never used.

It will take some time to getting used to them. The zoom is freaking huge, but is a likewise enormous satisfaction using it. I love peeping into situations from afar. I guess it will really unleash again my long asleep paparazzi spirit. Very fast, precise and super-sharp. But you really need to work out and be in good shape to go around with it. Today I went to the Immigration to receive the extended visa and while waiting the usual eternity, I brought it with me to do some homework. Sorry, dull day and nothing interesting was going on around there.

Another shot from the Royal Show, this time of the Skyflyer, thi is when it was going up to the top. Liked this better than it just spinning around at the top it gives more light trails.

The Confederation Bridge from Canadian mainland to Prince Edward Island is nearly 13km long, rises to 60m high and on our way back, was enveloped in this lovely mist. It also has a one way toll of $45 too!

This one is just for fun. I actually didn’t realized that as I panned I’d shrink one car and expand another! Took the photo in front of our local Ace Hardware: one of my favorite places to shop. The sky was beautiful, but of course I played with it a lot using Snapseed.
