Bi-directional spin with handheld crosshatched orb. And guess what? orb+spin=still -not-in-the-middle. Straight out of the camera.
So, my parents told me a lot when i was younger "Never meet anyone off the internet because they will turn out to men in their 30's!!"........And they were right, but at least i knew that from the start (Jeez, now i hope they aren't in their 20's, that could be offensive haha!)
Met up with www.flickr.com/photos/allanengland/ and www.flickr.com/photos/fellwalker1/ for my first light painting session outside of my own house. Great night out (from about 19:00 til 23:15 i think!?), surprisingly warm but we were playing with fire and i didn't have to travel too far!
Great to meet you both, thanks to Allan for being very generous with his Magnesium and to Mike for some hints and tips!
Found this is the middle of town, and when I got there to grab a photo of it this orb rocked up to the party!!

Some images I shot for my Photography 2 class.
The assignment was to shoot a series for Foam Magazine (in theory), and to give our own interpretations on "Our City Life".
Since I am studying abroad in East London right now, I am in a completely different situation as compared to my home (mountains, smaller towns/cities), I chose to explore ideas of alienation and blending in, as well as concepts of the individual amongst the masses.
Once again, I incorporated my now signature prop, Orson the glow-orb, as a symbol of an individual/me. The ambient lights/city lights are representations of the population/masses. Although Orson and the city lights are all essentially the same - lights, and we as humanity are all just people, there is an undeniable distinction when placed in a larger scope. Individuals make up the mass population, yet can be alienated and feel other or simply blend in, devoid of an identity.
I believe I'll shoot/edit some more images and include them into this series in the future...
P.S. This is my first official series of images I've shot on my new baby that I've waited for 2 years - Canon 5D Mark II! Needless to say, I am in love and feel limitless when shooting now! :) I also wan't to thank my new good friend/flatmate, Lily for being my assistant and guide when shooting that night! :)
One of a series of 'Just mucking about' kind of images from a bored evening on holiday in Somerset a fortnight ago.
Trying to see if I could do one of those basketish type things Captain Blithering does so preposterously well.

Mal wieder meine Lieblingsstelle in Wilgersdorf.
Playing with new light. Oh yeah! I am not very good at light orbs, but I like this one ok.- I gave it a hat. lol
well, these are the last lights I was wanting to try. Now hopefully, if it doesn't rain, we can get out somewhere else this weekend and shoot some orbs

Single exposure and using my latest Orb tool.
A great day and night out with my best mate, Jack the dog. Walked 7 miles during the day then as it got dark we waited for the orbs to appear.

We live in a very haunted community. Even so, I never give that sort of thing a second thought. I know that capturing 'orbs of light' in a picture is representative of the presence of spirits. (Certainly we had CONSUMED our fair share of spirits.) I really do believe that my house is haunted. I guess there's no reason why my backyard couldn't be.
