This is a shot form a few weeks ago when i met up with Tim, Chris and James at the Monsal Head tunnel on the Monsal Trail, Peak District
From the expressions on their outer surfaces, these orbs don't know what CnRs are about either. I suspect that they're just dissembling, and they do know really, but they just won't say...
The hastily scratched motif in the sand is the same thing carved 5000ish years ago on Chatton Park Hill. Nobody knows what they mean. But they attract orbs.
Is this art? Or can I delete it? ;-)
Strange FHDR processing of a strange, a little too dark, light painting shot.
Taken about 1/4 mile underground Newcastle ...
Dave & I had a good outing testing out some new light painting gadgets the other day ;-)
As I explored on the beach after the sunset, I found this cool artworks with hands on the rocks! So I stayed until after dark then I started light painting.
Des Moines Beach, WA
I tried this once before, but this time in my neighbours yard, closer to sunset, lower ISO for a better effect
Last night I shot this photo. I want to try again & last time I did was 3 years ago. I try get perfect exposure without blown out highlights. Not easy to control the exposure with lot of city lights & bright clouds while light painting. That was last shot before the wire snapped off my light orb tool. I was going to stop down to increase 1 more f-stop & try again. Oh well. But I think I did great job. Exposure is nice too.
You actually will develop a nervous disorder from stress
if you don't look at this large on black. ∆
sooc.- no photoshop.
thanks Austin. I am sorry your arm hurts (think it will be rested by tomorrow?) lol
update- Austin is the creator of the first light ball like this one. I have now seen many other people make them and it makes me so happy that they liked it that much.
Thanks Kev for the challenge of a squared circle, this is the best I could come up with... When all else fails hit the orbs, thats my moto... Its been a while and my spinning skills are a wee bit rusty. I should head out again one night.
My dad is a bit of an electronics whizz so I asked him to help me make a custom light orb tool. This is the end result.
I'm also quite encouraged that the orb itself isn't too shoddy despite this being my first ever proper attempt!
Now I just need to go out for another full LP session and try this out in the real world...
[Sharpened and cropped in Photoshop]
This was the first spin in water of the night and is probably my favourite because of the reflections achieved. You might notice I'm facing the opposite direction, this was to do with the tide coming in rapidly and my sheer inability to multitask.
Quick trip over to steetley pier to test out my new orb tool. Works well I think. Can't wait for a full moon and a clear night to try some more
This is my office at home were I host multiple websites, like www.neue-bands.de and do some stock trading....

STROBIST
SB-700 camera left, full power, 24mm
What do you like better? This version or what came directly out of the camera (or maybe the
16:9 cutout)? Made with the great "live time" mode of the Olympus OM-D and FHDR postprocessing.

Got a new 3-in-1 torch, had to make kitchen orbs to see how it works. This bit is the built in 3" cathode tube.
After repairing my orb spinner I decided to have a quick blast with it. In this shot I had to stand on the tree stump to do the spin this was akward and slippy but i managed not a bad 180 spin after a few attempts. I like how the camera has picked up the streetlights in the distance and gave the shot some colour as well as outlining the tree silhouette's
Orb on the beach next to the derelict Steetley magnesite works at Hartlepool. Not one of my best orbs as I hit the sand with the lights causing the top to go a bit out of sync. I quite liked the overall effect though & will try this again sometime for sure.
Thanks to all of the Amble tog's who came down from up North to visit the area, a cracking bunch of peeps indeed :-))
