A "deep throat" view of possibly the RAF,s Ultimate jet fighter, The Lightning has a performance that still puts more modern aircraft to shame. A story I heard at Tangmere concerned a Lightning that zoom climed to 80,000 feet . .. . then flew inverted above a high flying Lockheed U2. . One surprised USAF pilot. .
Bolts of lightning strike on both sides of the Ottawa River. These two bolts hit simultaneously. I was actually surprised to find that this hit both sides of the river when I reviewed the photo on the camera.
The left bolt is hitting somewhere in Ontario, probably somewhere north of the Connaught NACSTC. The right bolt is hitting somewhere in Quebec, probably on the outskirts of Alymer.
taken during a thunderstorm last week. i took it through a car window (which is why it may look blurry. the water). i'm get privilaged to get it on camera. wow.
This is the picture that made me appreciate lightning.
Sorry about the bad photo. I just wanted to get this up here before someone said "That would look great on a lampshade." Yeah I know, duh. Just not on this lampshade. Needs more sides and needs to be bigger. It's cool though.
Lightning McQueen from Cars, created using Ann Reardon’s tutorial from ‘How to Cook That’. Well worth buying the template, made things so much easier! The logo on the car is coloured using powdered food colouring, and the logo on the board says ‘Case’, the little boys name (printed on paper).

Nothing like sitting next to a pond during a lightning storm while there's a tornado watch in my area, I guess it's all about the shot and having steel nerves though

Palouse, Washington. Lightning streaks across the sky on a storm filled summer night.
I tried a new technique out for me. Letting the camera run as long as possible to capture as many strikes as I can. I made sure the f/ stop was sufficient enough to keep detail in the lightning and allow the ambient scene to expose enough. It worked pretty well. Just need to make sure my camera is pointed where the lightning is happening the most. I had to crop it square because all the lightning happen on the right side.
Enjoy,

Lightning struck a tree two doors down from my house and ruptured a gas line, igniting a fire. The lightning also nocked a large wooden clock off the wall nearly landing on my dad. The fire martial was a half mile away and thought for sure it was closer than that. I was evacuated about 1 hour and 40 min later. Xcel Energy had just arived to turn off the gas line.

While this looks like an enlargement, it is just part of the original sized image.
