As an experiment, I used the new Luminar software for the RAW conversion and basic processing for this. Blown highlights in the white shoulder area weren't handled well by the Aperture raw converter but Luminar has worked better. If Luminar can follow up with the promised photo library management functionality it might prove a worthy Aperture replacement. (May be of interest to those of you interested in Luminar's performance.)

Somerset Levels - Sun in. Very cold on the levels today with a lot of lakes frozen. A mix of Sun, snow flurries and cloud.

This station has wonderful patterns on the floor and looks like your in some sort of computer game.
As the cloud approaches from the east, I thought it would be nice to dig up a 'blue sky' shot from a set of battling birds over a Heronry in Somerset...

This Monarch butterfly came and went from all the volunteer Swamp milkweed plants in the garden several times. I tried to get close with the macro lens and she was having none of it. The big glass worked best with me keeping in the shadow of the patio roof and shooting into the milkweeds around the pond.
