I was planning a morning trip to Crosby to have a go at Anthony Gormley's Another Place. Driving up The Wirral to the Mersey Tunnel made me have a rethink as there was no way I'd have been able to see anything. The only places I could think of to try and get above the fog were Everton Brow and the Princes Dock multi-storey car park.
Everton Brow overlooks the whole of Liverpool city centre but probably isn't the most advisable place to be wandering around in the dark on a foggy morning so I made the decision to try the car park. This wasn't without risk either having been refused entry several times before by security and I didn't want to pay £9 for two hours parking in case I wasn't above the fog. However, I was prepared to try a little bribe and bought a coffee from 'Bean' coffeeshop which occupies one of the retail units at the base of the car park in the hope if challenged they'd readily accept.
When I entered the foyer the blind was down on the security room so I pressed for the lift and nervously hit the top floor button. A couple of flights of stairs to the roof parking area slowly revealed the tops of many of the iconic skyline buildings poking out above the fog below. I sat for half an hour drinking the coffee and smoking too many roll ups as it started to get light and the city began to come alive with lights coming on and the traffic beginning to build.
The fog was swirling between the buildings and eventually began to clear enough to reveal a nice sky and this was the scene that presented itself when it was finally light enough to see some colour.
Superb morning with conditions I doubt I'll ever see again. Would I recommend it? Probably not as I was convinced I'd be confronted by security any minute.
Was it worth the risk? Absolutely, though it was wrong on so many levels....

Wigmore Street in Marylebone (City of Westminster, London). In this street alone (which runs parallel to Oxford Street) there is so much expensive refurbishment and restoration work going on, precious investment that is, that the money spent here could regenerate a whole town in the north of England. "Levelling up" is a phrase used by the British government to address this inequality of investment, that is the privileged position of London vis-a-vis the neglect of central and northern Britain. It is a fine phrase, but words alone are not enough. Fuji X100F.
Mushrooms
I was looking at the shrooms and I thought that it was like they were climbing the trunk, but only a few made it on top.
A squirrel clings to the side of a tree like it’s halfway through deciding whether you’re worth trusting or just worth ignoring. Sunlight catches the edge of its tail, turning the fur into a soft halo against the rough, textured bark. The white chest and belly pop against the darker tones, giving the whole frame a clean, high‑contrast look that feels both wild and intimate.
The shallow depth of field isolates the squirrel perfectly, blurring the background into soft greens and browns so every whisker, claw, and patch of fur becomes the story. It’s a classic Florida backyard wildlife moment, elevated by tight framing and timing that catches the animal in that split second of stillness before it bolts.

Zbudowany jest głównie z bazaltów. Z krateru na szczycie wydobywają się pary i gazy, w czasie erupcji – bomby wulkaniczne i popioły. Dolne stoki są gęsto zaludnione. Pola uprawne, sady i winnice sięgają ok. 800–900 m n.p.m. Górna granica lasu na wysokości 2200 m n.p.m. W górnym piętrze przez większą część roku zalega śnieg. Od V wieku zanotowano 80 dużych wybuchów, z których najsilniejszy był w 1669 roku. Została wtedy zniszczona Katania. Ostatnia erupcja wulkanu nastąpiła 4 marca 2012 roku.
