* A recent trip to Whitby allowed me to take yet another set of shots of its harbour walls . Not a new subject for me but then the light is never quite the same whenever you visit. It was very windy on that particular February afternoon and sand was really blowing about
Some of you will be surprised by the following comments. I was very impressed by the press conference held last night by PM Boris Johnson flanked by the UK’s chief medical officer, Chris Whitty, and the governments chief scientific adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance. Throughout it was serious and I thought level headed . Johnson avoided making any cheap political points and there was not boasting about how well we are doing. You got the sense that it was the scientists who were making the important decisions and they were doing this with rigour and thought . I am no expert on Epidemiology so I clearly have no idea if they are making the right decisions. Vallance and Whitty clarity and thoughtful answers to press questions made me believe that what they are saying is based on sound research and rational thinking not gut instinct . They are also involving behavioural scientists in the planning models. Politicians might like to believe they have all the answers and do not need experts but it is scientists and medical practitioners who will get us through this difficult situation . Hope none of my close friends read this , praising a Tory is a flogging offence
THANKS FOR YOUR VISITING BUT CAN I ASK YOU NOT TO FAVE AN IMAGE WITHOUT ALSO MAKING A COMMENT. MANY THANKS KEITH. ANYONE MAKING MULTIPLE FAVES WITHOUT COMMENTS WILL SIMPLY BE BLOCKED

El Tungurahua
Al Volcán Tungurahua, 5,023 meters (16,480 ft) above sea level.
Perched on a hilltop behind Baños, just beyond the village of Runtún, this grassy viewpoint is a photographer's dream.
On a clear day like this one, I could see Volcán Tungurahua behind me.
*I am at 2,660 meters (8,727 ft) above sea level TODAY.
**Climbing to the Tungurahua Volcano Summit, 5,023 meters (16,480 ft) above sea level tomorrow and the next day (2:00 am to 7:00 am).
***
In the Sierra region passing from the Cordillera Oriental, in the central pits the active volcano Tungurahua stands out whose cone rises to the south of the deep gap that the Pastaza has broken, following a transverse fault through the Cordillera Real near Baños . Since the day of its most recent eruption, in September 1999, the Tungurahua Volcano has become the most beautiful and impressive tourist attraction in Ecuador, and perhaps, throughout Latin America.
The Tungurahua volcano is known as "mama Tungurahua".
The province of Tungurahua has the name of this colossus, which houses in its skirts towns such as Baños, presents a unique spectacle, although it announces to the villagers its greatness and destruction in the case of a strong eruption. It is a sight to see volcano activity at night.
From different cities in the provinces of Ecuador, they move to know this tourist place. Many times holidays are provided to be able to do tourism throughout the territory.
Wigmore Street in Marylebone (City of Westminster, London). In this street alone (which runs parallel to Oxford Street) there is so much expensive refurbishment and restoration work going on, precious investment that is, that the money spent here could regenerate a whole town in the north of England. "Levelling up" is a phrase used by the British government to address this inequality of investment, that is the privileged position of London vis-a-vis the neglect of central and northern Britain. It is a fine phrase, but words alone are not enough. Fuji X100F.

Blackburnian Warbler
(Setophaga fusca, formerly Dendroica fusca)
The Blackburnian Warbler is a small New World warbler. They breed in eastern North America, from southern Canada, westwards to the southern Canadian Prairies, the Great Lakes region and New England, to North Carolina.
Blackburnian Warblers are migratory, wintering in southern Central America and in South America. These birds were named after Anna Blackburne, an English botanist.

Mushrooms
I was looking at the shrooms and I thought that it was like they were climbing the trunk, but only a few made it on top.
