This was as full a shot as I got when this buzzard (buteo buteo) landed amongst the heather. Photographed near Llandrillo, Denbighshire, Wales

This time I found some brown pelicans fishing on San Pablo Bay at China Camp.

Hierodula is a genus of praying mantises found throughout Asia. Many species are referred to by the common name giant Asian mantis because of their large size.

The main waterfall at Dividend Pond (Rocky Hill, Connecticut) is a great place to practice.

I was able to move in the stream relatively easily (though still cautiously) side-to-side and forward-backward. It was one of the few times I've been able to tinker with composition quite a bit as large natural waterfall areas are typically pretty restrictive or dangerous for in-person photography.

The same Rovinj sunset posted a while back, this time taken from "sea-level".
