Learning points from this photo:
a) 1/320s isn't fast enough to "stop" the train from this angle
b) wait until the loco has reached the right place (or take multiple exposures)
"Western" diesel-hydraulic locomotive No. D1015 Western Champion has just passed under Chelvey bridge, North Somerset, with 1Z52, the 07:00 Solihull - Plymouth excursion on Saturday 10th May 2014. It's been many years since I witnessed a "Western" passing at speed, so I'll admit it was incredibly thrilling to hear that unique sound again. I planned to have another go at getting a decent shot when the train made its return journey later in the day, only to see the "whizzo" hurtle past as I arrived at the vantage point: learning point (c) check Real Time Trains for schedule changes right up to the last minute.
On exile on Saint Helena, Napoleon only had an English newspaper to read. He couldn't read English and had to start to learn. The page on display looks like he started eagerly but got more and more distracted and annoyed, ending up in drawing of what looks like a fortress.
Sorry for the bad quality---I tried to take a picture of the real exhibit but got stopped by a guard. The photo shows a screenshot of the exhibition book.

After yesterday's buckle shinin', another new American word for me to learn was 'bobtail'.
Bobtailing is when a semi-truck is traveling without an attached trailer. This can occur when a semi-truck is in the process of picking up a trailer (and has no trailer to deliver) or is returning from delivery (and has no trailer to pick up). Bobtails are a common sight on Texas highways.
Once again, James McMurtry's lyrics are spot on. Unfortunately if you follow the song to the end, there is a sad ending.
"She's been green breaking horses when she's home from the road,
Waiting on dispatch to find her a load.
She leased all but the trap, ponies can't graze a thing,
Another bobtail of coastal ought to last them 'til spring.
Randy says not to worry, he'll feed while she's gone.
She's got the Freightliner idling half up on his lawn.
He don't like her driving when the northers come blue
But if the horses went hungry Lord knows what she'd do"
jukebox # 505
Here is a rather good solo live version of the same song.
Benefits of Online Learning is no more a topic of debate and the need of it in educational assistance is widely accepted. It is always better to have assistance in education that is available for students without any constraints of time. bit.ly/2QHT9hN

are the joy of including vintage book pages in my designs, & the fun of paper piecing and coloring Hero Arts collage-type images. I also added some shimmerz glitter paint around the outside of the frame, which slightly darkens the aged paper for a subtle contrast. I also found some linen twine, which I like to add to my designs. Papers are Basic Grey Marrakech.

Early childhood education is the organized practice of educating those who are in early childhood, one of the most vulnerable stages in life. According to the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), it spans the human life from birth to age eight.
Early childhood education often focuses on children learning through play.
The terms preschool education and kindergarten emphasize education around the ages of 3-6 years. The terms "early childhood learning," "early care," and "early education" are comparable with early childhood education. The terms Day care and Childcare do not embrace the educational aspects. Many childcare centers are now using more educational approaches. They are creating curricula and incorporating it into their daily routines to foster greater educational learning.
Researchers in the field and early childhood educators both view the parents as an integral part of the early childhood education process. Early childhood education takes many forms depending on the beliefs of the educator or parent.
Much of the first two years of life are spent in the creation of a child's first "sense of self" or the building of a first identity. This is a crucial part of children's makeup—how they first see themselves, how they think they should function, how they expect others to function in relation to them. For this reason, early care must ensure that in addition to employing carefully selected and trained caretakers, program policy must emphasize links with family, home culture, and home language, meaning caregivers must uniquely care for each child using Developmentally Appropriate Practice, Individually Appropriate Practice and Culturally Appropriate Practice. Care should support families rather than be a substitute for them.
If a young child doesn't receive sufficient nurturing, nutrition, parental/caregiver interaction, and stimulus during this crucial period, the child may be left with a developmental deficit that hampers his or her success in preschool, kindergarten, and beyond.
Worst-case scenarios such as those found in Russian and Romanian orphanages demonstrate how the lack of proper social interaction and development of attachment affect the developing child. Children must receive attention and affection to develop in a healthy manner.
Learning a new thing is cool. Alex asked me to remove the training wheels from his bike. He wanted to ride his bike so bad that it took him a couple of days to learn. He is doing great. He just needs a little push to get started. There is more to learn like steering and brake. I still remember when I rode my bike for the first time. It was exciting!

Went to a friends house last night. Caleb is still learning to swim underwater, but he is picking it up rather quickly.
He is becoming quite the little fish.

Lego Studio, where the magic happens: We don't have a lot of different toys, just a lot of one kind- Legos. The kids can work in here alone or with a group of friends and collaborate in "The Lego Town". They can keep their projects us for as long as they want and display on the shelves or the table. This room has a door so the magic stays in, which I like.

Learning going on today is different. Learning who is alive and who is not. I taught in school few blocks from this picture. School ok but students are not. My former coworker is learning students are not orphans. I'm learning that my belief that I live in the greatest state that can overcome hurricanes, oils spills, and tornadoes, is everything I believed. I'm learning about community, I learned that through twitter & Facebook a site a friend set up raised $10K today. People seem to think learning takes place in the classroom, I learned today my friend Jenny's classroom is completely gone. Learning will still take place, where I'm not sure. Learning is not always formal, but it happens in all situations.
