This is another shot from my walk around the school grounds. I love how most of the leaf is green but there is just a hint of autumn in the red patch at the top.
Here is a picture of a green leaf with the sun shining through which contrasts with the grayish colors in the background. the dark shadows also contrast with the green of the leaf.

I planted a buckeye tree when I was seven years old. It's absolutely amazing to see how big it has gotten. That goes for the both of us!
Autumn leaf. Backlitt by the sun these leave really glow in their splendid color, but wind and lens flare it more difficult to capture than I expected

Another heart shape for the "heart" group - I always look for them as I am walking around - this one is in my backyard.
Autumn is a beautiful season, probably my favourite. The leaves this year seem more vivd than usual. I loved the light illuminating these leaves in Durham on a sunny day.
my parents live in the country, 5 acres in the middle of an old growth forest.
I grew up with a favorite tree...
it was my "secret place". I built forts underneath it, played "viking" (don't ask...I was never into Barbies though)
I read "my side of the mountain" and pretended I was lost and surviving out in the middle of nowhere.
until dinner.
I called the tree the Swiss Family Robinson tree because it was almost that huge.
I love going back to visit it~
Even Mother Nature is able to show her love through her plants and leaves... love is all over.... one just has to learn how to look closely....
