Leaf miners are the larvae of insects that live inside the leaves of trees and plants. They are very common among citrus trees, but have been known to attack a number of different trees and some garden crops. They are difficult to get rid of because they live inside the leaf where they are protected from pesticides. Leaf miners are most frequently larvae of moths, flies or beetles.

This is lit with on SB-600 diffused. On manual at 1/64 power (I think). The leaf is placed directly on the flash head.

Using sunny 16 on a rather grey day, not the best results but reasonable

I'm guessing that this is a Japanese Maple leaf. Found near the entrance to the Valdosta Country Club Grill when Jim took me to lunch during my spring break. He was feeling better, and I had gotten a sinus infection. :(
