Young seedlings of the Cut-leaf Coneflower. All parts of this plant are hirstute. Leaves on adult plants are extremely variable in shape.

The title pretty much says it all. :P

After the rain, I went out to get some macro shots of various elements in the yard. The sun was out and provided some great back lighting on the remaining leaves on the birch tree outside our apartments.

A pair of insects (sorry I don't know their common name) try to imitate leaves on a plant as a strategy to avoid being eaten.

It's raining here today. I love the rain, as long as it stays non-severe. No disasters please.

I was shooting some macro images of a couple of leaves and noticed that the veining reminded me of leafless trees. I thought this was a bit ironic.

if you look really closely (you can really only see it large), you can see the tiny adventitious roots emerging from the leaf vein node.

Bury this in the ground, keep it moist, and a new plant will sprout!
