Taken from 15-20 feet above this plant with the little butterfly on it using the 20x zoom on my camera.
Kanazawa is the only place in Japan where gold leaf is still made. The reason is there is yet a strong demand for its use in Buddhist altars and altar items, sliding doors, folding screens and in other traditional crafts. With the introduction of leaf beating machines, parts of the process were mechanized and some of the traditional tools became unnecessary. This collection has even these disappearing tools. There are 116 tools for making gold ingots, 44 tools for preparing the leaf beating papers and 101 tools for leaf beating, 62 tools for transferring the delicate gold leaf and 9 other tools. There are 332 items in all, of 109 different types, showing the methods of this unique craft.
I'm guessing that this is a Japanese Maple leaf. Found near the entrance to the Valdosta Country Club Grill when Jim took me to lunch during my spring break. He was feeling better, and I had gotten a sinus infection. :(
I'm still learning how to make the moving pictures. Walked in the woods yesterday. Watching the rain today. Mmm... fall. :)
Another old shot that I decided to edit. The quality of the photo's not that good since the leaves aren't too sharp, but I decided to upload it anyway ^___^

Taken in Autumn. Now it's the end of winter. Under my mother's washing line.
The first recent picture on flickr in a while taken on film - and on my favourite camera, the Nikon F100. Nikon users who don't have one should consider getting one :)
