My daughter spent an afternoon floating leaves on the pond and photographing them for her art project. She then stole the pics I'd taken!

I am so excited about the impending autumn. Colours are changing, light is soft and the air has a chill (ok, in Wales, that bit is the same as summer).

A young leaf from a red (Japanese?) maple, backlit by sunlight. I love the veins of light shining through the leaf.

Working a machine that produces maple leaf cakes.

Autum is a fantastic time of the year for photographers , as Autum leaves fall with colour and beauty. Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro was used, with a Nikon.

Completed 2008.06.17.

This is a replacement block . . . going for the lighter colors.

A very narrow depth of field, and some post processing in Lightroom gives this leaf the impression that it's floating in air, rather than lying on the grass.

Spent yesterday morning at the Huntington Gardens with a macro lens to see what I could capture. Decided to try to capture close-up textures.

Sitona lineatus. There are not many insects to be found at this time of year, but I came across this today while rooting around in leaf litter. It's only about 4-5 mm long.
