They're coming down in showers,
The leaves all gold and red;
They're covering the little flowers,
And tucking them in bed.
They've spread a fairy carpet
All up and down the street;
And when we skip along to school,
They rustle 'neath our feet.
Been away for ages now, hope everyone is ok! Got a few holiday pics to share with you. Will catch up with your streams over the next couple of days : )

Variable Cranesbill, aka Geranium sp. 2, one of several Victorian Geraniums yet to be named. Leaf is 5-lobed and hairless; each lobe is 3-lobed. The tips of the lobes are rounded, and the pointy bit, the stipule, tapers. Olinda, Victoria, Australia, April 2014.
My Canon 1Ds, the "nifty-fifty", and I spent the afternoon climbing the canyons and rocks at Starved Rock State Park. I spotted this leaf while precariously scooting along the top edge of French Canyon. This little guy was spotlighted by a ray of sunlight through the tree canopy. I originally planned for this to be a black and white day only, but this photo works a whole lot better in color.
