Habitat: grassland, former stony pasture; old overgrown colluvium, slightly southeast inclined slope; calcareous ground; dry, nutrients poor, shallow soil layer; sunny place, exposed to direct rain, average precipitations ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 7-9 deg C, elevation 610 m (2.000 feet), alpine phytogeographical region.
Substratum: soil.
Place: Lower Trenta valley, between villages Soča and Trenta, right bank of river Soča, 'Na melu' place, near Trenta 2b cottage, East Julian Alps, Posočje, Slovenia EC.
Comment: Species of genus Dianthus are beautiful and highly symbolic plants, particularly the red ones. They are symbol of love, courage, life, revolution and working class. Latin name of the genus is composed of two Greek words 'Dios' meaning god Zeus and 'anthos' meaning flower. All of them are pleasantly fragrant plants. Such is also Dianthus hyssopifolius even though their flowers lack vivid red color. It can be 'at best' pink and even this is not common in Slovenia, where most of the plants are almost white or only slightly pinkish. Nevertheless, their smell is wonderful and based on it they can be spotted from far even at night. The plant is not common, but also not rare in Slovenia. However, it is limited to western half of the country. In Austria and Switzerland it is considered as a rare plant. Otherwise, it is growing mostly in southern parts of the Alps in montane elevations, but sometimes it climbs up to 2.200 m elevation (Ref.:4). It can be found also in other European mountains. Dianthus hyssopifolius is usually found on dry, calcareous, nutrient poor meadows, sometimes also in light woods.

Once we were at our anchorage the kids were in and out of the water all day. They also took turns in a canoe that came with the raft house.
Naam rented a raft house one Sunday to take the kids for a day on the water.
We were in Sangkhlaburi from Saturday, February 2nd to Friday, February 22.
For the 2013 Spring Festival holiday time we went to Thailand again (Jan 30 - Feb 27). This visit was primarily to spend time with our friend, Naam, and meet the 20 + children she cares for close to the Thai-Burmese (Myanmar ) border in Sangkhlaburi.

Threatened.
Forest destruction, due primarily to slash-and-burn practices, charcoal production and illegal logging, is the principal threat, but hunting is increasingly becoming a significant threat (including with blowpipes, firearms, bow-and-arrows and traps) and sometimes entire groups are captured.
The common brown lemur has a total length of 84 to 101 cm (33 to 40 in), including 41 to 51 cm (16 to 20 in) of tail. Weight ranges from 2 to 3 kg (4.4 to 6.6 lb).
The short, dense fur is primarily brown or grey-brown. The face, muzzle and crown are dark grey or black with paler eyebrow patches, and the eyes are orange-red.
The common brown lemur occupies a variety of forest types, including lowland rainforests, montane rainforests, moist evergreen forests and dry deciduous forests. They spend about 95% of their time in upper layers of the forest and less than 2% of their time on the ground.
They are primarily active during the day, but can exhibit cathemeral activity and continue into the night, especially during full moons and during the dry season.
They normally live in groups of 5 to 12, but group size can be larger. Groups include members of both sexes, including juveniles, and there are no discernible dominance hierarchies.
The diet consists largely of fruits, young leaves, and flowers, supplemented with bark, sap, soil, bird eggs and animal prey (including insects, centipedes, millipedes, and nestlings). It can tolerate greater levels of toxic compounds from plants than other lemurs can.
The mating season is in May and June. Most adult females produce offspring each year. One or two young are born in September or October, after a gestation period of around 120 days. Weaning occurs at 6–7 months, and sexual maturity at between 1–2 years. Individuals may live up to 30 years.
I count 5 different golden layers here, taken at sunset from West Seattle. This would be fun to see on a golden metal print.
02.24.11 - Some likes and dislikes w/ this mid layer fleece. It's really comfortable and warm and I love the sleeves and the hood. I don't really like that little patch they put on the right side tho... it's not that noticeable but in certain colors it looks like you got dirt on you. It looks like you can stuff it in the pocket as well but I darn near broke the zipper trying to do that.

I had 3 different pudding flavors packages I decided to make a dessert with them by laying them with cool whip I had in the fridge too. I first layered vanilla pudding then put a layer of cool whip. The next that followed was a layer of pumpkin pudding and another layer of cool whip. I topped it with a layer of cheesecake pudding. I sprinkled some granola on top.
Layer cake is a cake consisting of multiple layers, usually held together by frosting or another type of filling, such as jam or other preserves.

Added 'awaken' texture at soft light
These skates were part of my outdoor Christmas decorations and now they are all that's left with a single pine branch tucked into the boot. I paid attention to the light which was coming from above on a cloudy afternoon. I found the best angle for simple composition and could have opened up the exposure a tad more but I wanted to really blur out the background to enhance the skates..
