The ruins of St. Botolph's Priory in Colchester, with a later church in the distance. We regularly walk right along this wall/fence on our way into the town centre.

Definitely better large.

I love this photo.

There are layers of doors behind each other at New Town High and they form different layers of light and I somehow got him over the bricks as well.

A very illusional photo.

Strawberries in sparkling water.

I used a mixture of calico blossoms and fancy flowers - and cut around them. A can't remember which set the simple hello is from.

View On Black

Here someone has crossed out many of the unimaginative "lewis" tags insentitively scrawled on many nice works.

Early in the morning the light is actually the most beautiful and so this is often a great moment to take pictures. During the trekking through the Annapurna, we got up early a few times to go outside. We enjoyed the light, which revealed itself more and more, creating an atmospheric image of the surrounding area. From the lodge in Tadapani we looked over a valley, hills and mountains were behind it. As it was becoming lighter, the entire image changed, from a dark shadow into layers which increasingly changed from color .. Nature can be incredibly beautiful...

Upon Layers. It is interesting to discover what lies behind everything. Though the colors suck badly after fotolog compresses it, meh. Whatever.

All in all, you were all just bricks in the wall.

Layers of laverder for my Pretty Green eyed Ell.

This image has two images combined, one layer is a black and white image of a plant. The leaves of the plant are spread out and are mostly on the right side of the image. The plant has unique patterns and can be seen despite the layered image. The second layer is a photo of my partner carrying our baby. They have a pattern across them from the light coming in through the blinds; this image is in color. For this image, I had used the Photoshop guided option to combine the images and from there, I had done some small adjustments to the lighting so that both images could be seen better. As I have mentioned in a previous discussion board posting, I think this image is artistic. I think it is artistic for a couple of reasons; one is because of the message that it carries, and another is because of the technical side of it. The photo communicates the things that I take care of within my household. I take care of my plants and have a strong connection to my plants, especially since I have many of them. The second image is of my family, which I also take care of. My daughter is someone I spend so much time caring for, as she’s only three months and still very very dependent on me and my partner for everything. My partner is someone I take care of through our relationship. So at a first glance, it may be unclear how these two images might be related at first. However, once learning the significance of the image, I think the artistic and creative quality can be appreciated more. As for the technical side, I think this image is artistic because of the layering and how both images can be seen through the layering. Through combining a black and white image and a colored image, I created contrast. I also carried this contrast through the subjects of the photos, as both photos contain images of life. If I were to do this image differently to have the artistic quality and creative quality stand out more, what I would do is take the image of my family on a more plain background so that the stripes from the light is not distracting from the image and instead they can be appreciated more, while also showing the plant better. I might also choose brighter colors so that they can pop against the black and white image.

The layered misting technique itself was fine, but I don't like using acetate masks. They do not stick to the paper tightly enough for my liking. Small detailed designs get all muddy and lost. Big bold alphabet letters are OK, but for a real mask I like the "contact" paper method.

Layer-Lantern Flower plant was bought by Esther during Lunar New Year 2010 as the seller guaranteed that these flowers grow all the time non-stop. It really does, so all year round, she get at least 2-3 flowers in bloom each time :)
