A ship moors itself in the middle of Kachemak Bay overlooking the stunning mountain peaks.
Given the distance of this shot and the foggy morning weather, a lot of color saturation was already gone, so I just decided to remove all the color - the layers of peaks worked out well-enough.
There's a road in Stuart, Florida that is lined on either side with Banyan trees. They form a canopy over the road. It feels both protective and primordial (some of these trees are very, very old). Unfortunately, I forgot my monopod so I didn't get as many good shots as I would like (just another reason to go back 😉)
Anyway, I just noticed that the Flickr Friday group theme was layers, so I thought this would work. These trees have the most remarkable root system, and their limbs curve and entwine creating layers upon layers.
This was one of those rare days when I actually got out after a theme was announced! 😀
Thanks to all for viewing, faving and/or commenting! Much appreciated! L 😊
I had a fun day exploring downtown... just a hop and a skip from my own backyard. These ruins were fascinating... if only these walls could talk.
I like this on black... just click the photo if you want to view large.

One Important thing I learned about living in San Francisco
Always dress in Layers.
In the morning it can be cold, then really hot in the afternoon, then cool in the evening.
During as simple stroll through the city, I'll pull off my hoodie, put it back on, then pull it off again. The weather keeps shifting. Fog rolls in, Fog rolls out, rain falls, the sun emerges..
Right now it's raining, I'm sure it'll clear up by this afternoon. The weather never stays the same way for long around here.
Sorry for being M.I.A. lately, I took a picture every day but didn't have the opportunity to upload all of them until now. You can click back to view the past five days.
I've been working hard on preparing my portfolio for future interviews and I haven't had much free time. I was just offered a freelance job. It's small,(not much money) but it's a start. It's a good side job while I continue learning the computer programs I need to know for the position I really want.
I'm nervous about entering the job market again.
Day 23 of 365 days
Thanks to Kieran Campbell my post processing skills are getting better.
Just got to practice. And get everything in the frame.
I'll be back up that hill...
I like it when the deeper you go with the character, the more you see the layers start to peel away.

This is what's below the ridge I live next to.
Wetlands around Vaseaux Lake. In the foreground two coordinated duck's ass in synchronized-moon-the-photographer swimming event. I can't help but sense they know they are on a bird reserve.
100/365 … a bit of a study in layers and reflections … out of the sitting room window and across to the porch and front door, back across the garden and then, (kinda) beyond … it’s a scene I know we’ll … but I still find myself looking?? :-) xx
This photo location was the waterfront in Tacoma, WA. A beautiful early morning stroll with a theatrical ending.

"The three lava flows visible from this point are from the southwest rift of Mauna Loa. The darker or younger lava flow surrounding this point is from the 1907 eruption and the lighter colored lava down slope is believed to be 750-1,500 years old. The dark flow east of this location is from an 1887 eruption. These three flows are all the 'a'a (rough or clinker) and not pahoehoe (smooth or ropy) lava. The older lava flows are lighter in color and generally have larger 'ohi'a lehua trees.
If you look closely you will find few 'ohi'a lehua trees growing in the 1907 flow"
I visited Kentucky the past couple weeks. Though it was late summer, there was still a lot of color to be found at the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens at the Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown.
Several Monarchs were working the Zinnias (foreground) and Mexican Sunflowers (background bokeh).
Many layers of historic Fenway Park, in use by the Red Sox since 1912, are seen along Lansdowne Street behind its famed Green Monster. Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

It dose not take long for conditions to change. When I saw what looked like a promising sky from home I thought lets give it a go but in my twenty minute walk to the beach the sky had other ideas.
Like a bank of cloud rising from The West to envelope what sun there was, but, all was not lost, I had this wonderful sky full of layers of clouds in various shades of blue to yellow.

(Arms up in the air) I fess up! Before any hate-mailers get their typing fingers going on the ol' keyboard. This is a composite of four shots, each one focusing on a different point and then painting in the sharpness from one level to the next. Sheesh! A fellow can't get away with squat around here!
