The Valensole Plateau is situated at an altitude of 500 mtrs in the south of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and covers an area of 800 km² with lavender fields, wheat fields and charming villages.

The best time to visit the Plateau is july, when it is awash with beautiful blue lavender in bloom.When I took this pic the lavender was just colouring but not yet full in bloom.

Mayfield Lavender Farm has now sewn a wonderful patch of just wild flowers for the bees , bugs butterflies and whatever/whoever else wants to take advantage.. as a photographer...this was just such a wonderful added bonus to the whole visit there

Visitors are busy taking selfies in a lavender field in Langley BC.

The sweet smell of the lavender fields, their flowers shining with morning dew, soft colors, clouds and mists, the sun rising from the distant mountains, bees waking up to their daily search for pollen, fascinating moments that I will always remember.
