I rediscovered this lava lamp this week. I turned it off and put it away about two moves ago, because it picked that time to go nutty and stop behaving prettily. I plugged it in today, and it gave me this weird, Lovecraftian shape before melting fully and working properly!
Within a few hours, I had to shut it off and pack it up for move #3. But it'll be out of the box and on display once I'm moved back in!

I chose this one for my 365, but I wonder if I should've gone with the other. Your thoughts?

A shot through my computer screen. This shot more or less explains my whole life. There are three addictions pictured here as well plus a few hobbies.
I made the desk in Grade 10 woodshop and the bed in Grade 11 woodshop. You can see my books on the far left. One if among my favourites, "Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugenides". I am also a caffeine addict and drink tea and Coke obsessively. I collect handmade arts, like the mug which I got from the Sterling Renaissance Festival in 2008. The picture frame, which I painted, holds a picture of I took of my late best friend, Kristen. The third anniversary of her death just passed on January 23rd and I miss her very much.

I've had this lamp for over twenty years. The colour has faded from the liquid, but the wax is still red.

I PROMISE, this one stays... you guys are so quick with the comments! You have to give a chance to the anal retentive in me.
In the Nth version of this shot I had uploaded I was saying that I am sorry for having deleted this, but I am so picky sometimes that I cannot sleep. No more surprises, I swear!

Testing out the Flickr HD feature with some video of my lava lamp.
When you start up a LavaLamp it goes through a few phases. First it just sits there while the lava warms up. Then a bit of lava squirts to the top really quickly and seems to “freeze.” A little while later that frozen lava breaks up and falls to the bottom and soon after tiny balls start spitting up (that’s what’s captured in this video). After the tiny ball phase, it enters the regular LavaLamp phase for a few hours before reaching the final giant lava glob. Once you’ve got a giant lava glob it’s time to shut it down and give it a rest already.
The edited video was compressed with the Apple TV preset before uploading to Flickr.
