A perspective view of my Mac workspace.

I love that Lava lamp on the right.

Added some new soap to my soap dispenser and the next day it had gone all lava lampy. This needed to be documented.

Our Daily Challenge - Light

I really didn't have anything creative that crossed my mind about today's topic, so I went all retro on ya. This is my lava lamp. Yes I have one, and I love it. I actually begged for it for my birthday a few years ago. I'd love to have about 6 or 7 to be honest. We're probably going to be making a studio / office this weekend and they would be a great addition.

On a side note, I did make my first vid and uploaded it. Nothing special, but I do intend on making some more and throwing them up. The T1i takes decent videos if you can hold it perfectly still.

My one and only, original MATHMOS LAVA LAMP. I have been searching this particular stuff since I came back form the USA. Now I finally have one.

Here is the final product. Not quite as good in some areas as others, but I hate citing, and all that crap. Art should be more free and enjoyable. Imperfections make art more interesting. Ah, whatever, at least it's done. Haha. There's a bit of a warp in the picture because the 4'x4' Masonite Board (Yeah, that's right, a kid could stand next to this thing and be the same height.) is resting up against some junk in my garage.

I had this friend when I was in Grad School and she used to say that I was a "Nerd gone bad".

It's kinda true.

Watching a lava lamp slowly moving around is very relaxing and therapeutic for Meredith during this bustling Christmas season.

Lava lamp made by myself

I love to watch lava lamps in action this time it was performing a act in unison.

Heat + Waximass + WhatTheHeck = Glorious Mathematical Wonder & Beauty...

We're Here & thinking about math; period...

Tripod-mounted & lit from directly above & behind by a Speedlite on a stick firing into an absurdly cheap reflective brolly.

Folded from a rectangle of Strathmore charcoal paper, painted with acrylics. I mounted a small white LED in the base such that I can turn it on and off without removing the LED. The shape reminds me of a lava lamp.

Just a few of my collection.

:)

Lava lamps bring me great joy.

desktop toys sparkle lava lamps (sort of)

I rediscovered this lava lamp this week. I turned it off and put it away about two moves ago, because it picked that time to go nutty and stop behaving prettily. I plugged it in today, and it gave me this weird, Lovecraftian shape before melting fully and working properly!

Within a few hours, I had to shut it off and pack it up for move #3. But it'll be out of the box and on display once I'm moved back in!

Randomness in a Lava Lamp. Wonder if our lives is just about as random as the blobs in a Lava Lamp?

That's my lava lamp (this shot is manipulated)!

I have a lava lamp on my desk. It mezmerizes me.

I chose this one for my 365, but I wonder if I should've gone with the other. Your thoughts?

I still love the old lava lamp but have to admit it is old style
