Our Daily Challenge - Light
I really didn't have anything creative that crossed my mind about today's topic, so I went all retro on ya. This is my lava lamp. Yes I have one, and I love it. I actually begged for it for my birthday a few years ago. I'd love to have about 6 or 7 to be honest. We're probably going to be making a studio / office this weekend and they would be a great addition.
On a side note, I did make my first vid and uploaded it. Nothing special, but I do intend on making some more and throwing them up. The T1i takes decent videos if you can hold it perfectly still.

My one and only, original MATHMOS LAVA LAMP. I have been searching this particular stuff since I came back form the USA. Now I finally have one.

I had this friend when I was in Grad School and she used to say that I was a "Nerd gone bad".
It's kinda true.
Watching a lava lamp slowly moving around is very relaxing and therapeutic for Meredith during this bustling Christmas season.

We're Here & thinking about math; period...
Tripod-mounted & lit from directly above & behind by a Speedlite on a stick firing into an absurdly cheap reflective brolly.
Folded from a rectangle of Strathmore charcoal paper, painted with acrylics. I mounted a small white LED in the base such that I can turn it on and off without removing the LED. The shape reminds me of a lava lamp.
I rediscovered this lava lamp this week. I turned it off and put it away about two moves ago, because it picked that time to go nutty and stop behaving prettily. I plugged it in today, and it gave me this weird, Lovecraftian shape before melting fully and working properly!
Within a few hours, I had to shut it off and pack it up for move #3. But it'll be out of the box and on display once I'm moved back in!

I have a lava lamp on my desk. It mezmerizes me.
I chose this one for my 365, but I wonder if I should've gone with the other. Your thoughts?
A shot through my computer screen. This shot more or less explains my whole life. There are three addictions pictured here as well plus a few hobbies.
I made the desk in Grade 10 woodshop and the bed in Grade 11 woodshop. You can see my books on the far left. One if among my favourites, "Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugenides". I am also a caffeine addict and drink tea and Coke obsessively. I collect handmade arts, like the mug which I got from the Sterling Renaissance Festival in 2008. The picture frame, which I painted, holds a picture of I took of my late best friend, Kristen. The third anniversary of her death just passed on January 23rd and I miss her very much.
