This particular design features a cylindrical bottle that is placed into a rectangular lamp. The beauty of the lamp is that it is reflective and the glitter flakes which shimmer light also reflect on the mirrored backing. This makes the lamp look rather magical and rather interesting, I really love this design. Lately these lamps have emerged and with a round sticker saying TC Registered Design. Thus we will call these lamp TC lamps as we have so little information on the manufacturer of these wonderful pieces.
We have three lava lamps at home so was about time I had a go at taking a photo of one really! Not entirely sure it worked but I liked the purple light and the bubbles of "lava"

This particular lamp is rather beautiful and rather elegant, featuring a cut glass bottle, full of facets. These facets give the lamp character and give the lamp its charm. Often seen for sale in France and feature a base and cap that remind me of the Gemlite Mystique glitter lamp.
I saw a night photo of a runner with a headlamp the other day in the paper. The beam from the lamp seemed to shoot out in a wavy pattern in front of him. After thinking about this for a minute, I decided the photo was taken with a flash and then exposed a little longer. Thus the trail, or should I say lead? Anyway, I've been experimenting with long exposures using an initial flash. The first part comes out lit and crisp and then you get some ghosting for the remainder of the exposre. This is a poor example, but it's a start. Gots to try this on cars... There may very well already be a catchy technical name for these but I'll call them Flashed LEs.
Lava lamp and vacation photos! The small set of four are from my Alaska vacation in 2001; the two to the right are from a day trip aboard the USS Nebraska, a Trident nuclear submarine.
Lava lamp in Ardent Studios, Memphis, TN. During recording of Idle Wilds record for RCA, December 1994/January 1995
When to a vintage fair in Manchester today and stupidly didn't take any pictures.
But I took this earlier, it's a USB made to look like a miniature lava lamp, taken up close and personal!
This picture pretty much sums up how organised my life is at the moment. Not very :P
Shame the picture didn’t come out quite how I wanted though (my socks/feet look weird/wrong), but It’s quite hard to try and focus on your own feet when you can’t reach the camera, let alone see what it’s aiming at ;)
Day 4/365
4th April '11
Had the day off work today to settle into the new house and my mum and step dad came over for dinner. I put the lava lamp on in the dining room as I can just sit there and watch this for hours!
Stunning sunny colour. A lovely French Glitter lamp which has a lovely oval shaped design. Very elegant.
Take a 500ml bottle of carbonated water.

Replace lid and invert bottle once.
Watch Blueberry Lava Lamp for 60 - 120 minutes.

playing around with my camera, which started out to see how I liked my dress after I altered it, then I just got bored. :)
A wonderful glitter lamp, that reminds me of a theatre show. The back of the lamp is lined with an infinity pattern of trees that make you look like you are looking into an avenue in a forest. This wonderful glitter lamp is a very beautiful piece and the following images show the lamp, construction and of course the lamp's beautiful effect. Thank you to Bohdan for the images.
So take a look at this charming little glitter lamp, which simulates walking down an avenue in the Winter snow.
