Special Knowledge Forum in celebration of World Environment Day 2018 at ICIMOD. This Knowledge Forum is co-sponsored by the Royal Norwegian Embassy, the Nepali Times, Doko Recyclers and ICIMOD.
World Environment Day (WED) is a United Nations initiative to encourage awareness and action to protect our environment. Over the years, it has grown into a global platform for public outreach that is celebrated by stakeholders in more than 100 countries. The theme for World Environment Day 2018 is 'Beat Plastic Pollution' which is an urgent call to immediately phase out plastic use and pursue sustainable alternatives.

Knowledge, like water, is vital to life. In this work, a continuous stream of water connects the two figures. The water is symbolic of the passing of knowledge from generation to generation. This embodies the Rotarians’ hope that the values cultivated by The 4-Way Test will continue to be a guiding principle in human relations for our future generations.

Finding the Collier's Encyclopedias in poor shape. I thought of saving a volume, to honor the hours I spent reading those and the Compton's set (my favorite) which went away 25 years earlier.
