2 Days ago the Baby got his/her first official letter, it was from his/her Grandparents in Germany (thank you!!). We really liked the little story inside...I will try to translate it to my best knowledge.
(An unborn twin pair converse in their mother's stomach:)
"Sag mal glaubst du eingentlich an ein Leben nach der Geburt?" fragt der eine Zwilling.
("Hey, do you believe in life after birth?" asks the one twin.)
"Ja auf jeden Fall! Hier drinnen wachsen wir und weden stark fuer das was draussen kommen wird" antowortet der andere Zwilling.
( Yes of course! Here inside we are growing to become stronger for what awaits us outside" the other twin answers.)
"Ich glaub das ist bloedsinn1" sagt der erste. "Es kann kein Leben nach der Geburt geben - wie sollte das den bitteschoen aussehen?"
(I think that is nonsense!" says the first."It's impossible that there is life after birth - what would that look like?)
"So ganz genau weiss ich das auch nicht. Aber es wird sicher viel heller als hier sein und vielleicht werden wir herumlaufen und mit den mund essen?"
("Well I don't really know exactly. But it will be for sure much brighter than in here and maybe we will be walking around and eating with our mouths")
"So ein unsinn habe ich ja noch nie gehoert! Mit dem Mund essen, was fuer ein verrueckte Idee. Es gibt doch die Nableschnur die uns ernaehrt. Und wie willst du herum laufen? Dafuer ist die Nabelschnur viel zu kurz".
( I haven't heard such nonsense before! Eat with the mouth, what a crazy idea!? We have the Umbilical cord that feeds us. And how do you want to walk around? The Umbilical cord would be way too short!")
"Doch es geht ganz bestimmt. Es wird eben alles nur ein bisschen anders."
( "Yes it will work out somehow. It will all just be a little bit different")
"Du spinnst! Es ist noch nie einer zuruekgekommen von einer Geburt. Mit der Geburt ist das Leben zu Ende. Punktum"
(Your Crazy! No one has as of yet returned from a birth. With the Birth life is over. And that is a fact)
"Ich gebe ja zu das keiner weis wie das leben nach der geburt aussehn wird. Aber ich weiss das wir dann unsere Mutter sehen werden und sie wird fuer uns sorgen.
( I admit that nobody really knows what life after birth exactly looks like. But I know that we will meet our mother and she will take care of us)
"Mutter?? Du glaubst doch wohl nicht an eine Mutter? Wo ist sie denn bitte?"
(Mother?? You are not telling me that you believe in a Mother? Where is she beg you pardon?)
"Na hier - ueberall um uns herum wir sind und leben in ihr und durch sie ohne sie koennten wir gar nicht sein!"
(Well here - everywhere around us, we live in her and without her we wouldn't even exist.)
"Quatsch! Von einer Mutter habe ich noch nie etwas gemerkt, also gibt es sie auch nicht"
( Nonsense! I haven't seen anything that resembles a mother, that means she doesn't exist.)
"Doch, manchmal wenn wir ganz still sind kannst du sie singen hoeren oder spueren wenn sie unsere welt streichelt...."
( Yes, sometimes when we are really quiet you can hear her sing or feel her rubbing our world.....)
Thanks!!!

More and more companies are building social networks in the enterprise. For those keeping track, the common term used today is Enterprise Social Networks (ESN).In almost all cases, the reasoning for implementing an ESN is to improve collaboration, break down silos, ease the flow information, etc. One that is often missing is how it could influence search results in the enterprise.
In the internet, social networks play a huge role in helping with search results. This help does not come in the straight up indexing of the content and adding to the overwhelming amount of content already being indexed, but rather from the building a a social or knowledge graph from the social networks.
Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc. have built algorithms to mine the content in social networks and to try to understand the relationships between the interactions happening in the social networks. While this information is used for many purposes, the mining of the data is used build out what is called a social graph and to extend knowledge graphs (think really big taxonomies or ontologies).
There is a big opportunity for companies to leverage their ESN implementations to improve their search results. This concept goes beyond the idea of ESN and could even be applied to any location people interact with each other (online meetings, Chat sessions, even corporate email).
By mining the information from these interactions, a social graph of related to topics and concepts can be built, that will improve how people search and eventually find the information they are most interested in.This note was inspired +David Amerland book, Google Semantic Search - Amazon location 2111.

55th International Art Exhibition
The Encyclopedic Palace
1st June > 24th November 2013
The 55th International Art Exhibition will take place in Venice from June 1st to November 24th, 2013 at the Giardini and at the Arsenale (preview: May 29th, 30th and 31st 2013), as well as in various venues the city.
The title chosen by curator Massimiliano Gioni for the 55th International Art Exhibition is Il Palazzo Enciclopedico / The Encyclopedic Palace. Massimiliano Gioni introduced the choice of theme evoking the Italo-American self-taught artist Marino Auriti who “on November 16, 1955 filed a design with the US Patent office depicting his Palazzo Enciclopedico (The Encyclopedic Palace), an imaginary museum that was meant to house all worldly knowledge, bringing together the greatest discoveries of the human race, from the wheel to the satellite. Auriti’s plan was never carried out, of course, but the dream of universal, all-embracing knowledge crops up throughout history, as one that eccentrics like Auriti share with many other artists, writers, scientists, and prophets who have tried - often in vain - to fashion an image of the world that will capture its infinite variety and richness.”

Popped back to the Coventry Transport Museum for TAXI: The Story from A to B.
26th January to 12th May 2019.
The black taxi cab is a British icon along with Big Ben and bowler hats, but did you know this much loved vehicle has been made in Coventry since the 1940s?
This exhibition celebrates one of the hardest working vehicles on our roads, with a wealth of taxis on display from both the museum’s own collection and private lenders. Highlights include ‘Hannah’ a record breaking taxi that drove around the world, black taxi cabs throughout the ages and examples of taxis from around the world, including New York and Japan.
The black cab, which has been continuously manufactured in Coventry since the 1940s, is used by millions of people in the UK each year as well as being exported across the world.
The exhibition will take visitors on a journey through a history spanning three centuries, starting with the creation of the Bersey Electric Cab in Coventry in 1897 – the first cab to be used on the streets of London and an early example of an electric vehicle.
The exhibition, which was curated by Patrick Murphy as part of an artist residency at the museum starting in 2017, includes a range of early taxi models including a 1910 Humber Taxi and a 1930s Austin High Lot.
Get up close to taxis of yesterday, today and the future.

Last year, a colleague and I received funding to bring representatives from a number of aboriginal teacher education programs from across Canada to form an aboriginal knowledge exchange network. Today was our first meeting, a Symposium in Regina. Thanks to those that did all the work, it will be an impressive three-day event.
