May 8, 2013 was Jerusalem Day and to celebrate, United with Israel hit the streets along with the names of over 100,000 supporters who have signed the Jerusalem Declaration! The signers of the Declaration agree that Jerusalem must remain the undivided capital of Israel, which was declared by the modern day State of Israel and heralded by King David over 3000 years ago.

As the crowds began arriving in the Old City along with the proud marchers waving their flags, we too proudly hung our banner on the millenia-old Jerusalem walls. We placed the names of the signers on our banner so they could be a part of the event! If you look closely, you might just see YOUR name!

Sanding the parts of the desk - no splinters for the students with these desks. by International Disaster Volunteers

We recently started working with La Main Tendre Orphanage to secure the education of the thirty school age kids in the Orphanage’s care.

We’ve already provided desks and school supplies for the free school that the orphanage hosts, and we’ll soon build a semi-permanent, transitional classroom on the property. The project's entire cost will be less than $1,250 or EU 898.

When we say a “transitional classroom” we mean a classroom that will be usable and comfortable as is for a number of years and can later be expanded into a full permanent school.

Transitional classrooms can be built using only a small investment and will ensure education for vulnerable children for years to come.

At the moment we are constructing the classroom’s roofing structures on our base and will soon start building at the orphanage. This project is on-going, so keep checking in for updates.

Heat one of a Premier League speedway fixture at Shielfield Park. Hosts Berwick Bandits scored a maximum 5-1 advantage over Rye House Rockets in the race and went on to win the match 64-29. It seems likely this was Berwick's final home meeting. The cash-strapped club is set to fold before 2016, its 50th anniversary season. The riders are Ryan Fisher (red helmet cover), Kevin Doolan (blue), Luke Bowen (yellow/black) and Edward Kennett (white). Aussie Doolan won the heat in a time of 65.9sec. Kennett failed to finish owing to an engine failure then reeled off five heat victories!
