I often drive by perfect scenes or interesting settings and add them to my mental "I have to photograph that" list. On this day, I grabbed an old Nikon D700 we have at work and tromped out into the snowy field to photograph the little schoolhouse around sunset. Read all about it.
It's funny someone posted THAT sign to a run-down, abandoned schoolhouse.

I wish I could say I thought of this idea myself, but I saw it on a blog with no credit. So to whoever thought of it first...how inspirational of you. :) And YES I defaced this bill.....please don't arrest me. Hopefully someone's bad day will get a little better when they see this dollar.. whether that day be tomorrow or someday ten years down the road.

Divide, CO - Sometimes you walk into a room and the ambiance just makes you want to stop, and calmly exhale.
I'm pretty horrible when it comes to playing pool, but it doesn't keep me from enjoying it. In fact most sports I really enjoy playing that require some sort of coordination I'm terrible at. I may not be able to hit a golf ball straight but I can brew a mean* beer!
* - Yes a beer that is mean; it doesn't like pants, acts like a jerk in front of elephants and skydives over Houston.
The sun was hitting the top of the pool table which blasted a green color cast everywhere. In hindsight I should have thrown a flash in the room to clean it up. But I didn't and that's alright with me.
A friend of mine was dogsitting for her sister and we spent a few hours of our day helping out. He was way too cute for his own good and tough to keep up with at times.
An entry into the large Misc. Category of the CCC. Snowy Castle dioramas have long been my favorite subject matter, so this was an extraordinarily fun build. This is my largest irregular base build to date, and features a full interior throughout the whole keep. This is my latest keep for King Cormac and the Crown. It's my largest layout to date. I'll echo what I've said in the past: The more pieces I get, the bigger I'll make 'em.
DawnShire Keep is still my only creation to ever be blogged by the brothers brick. Still, many people were disappointed in it. I decided that after I bought the new King's Castle set, I would remake it. So, here you go.

I am going to try to add an original Mandala each day. It helps keep me calm at my age !
This will be on top of the photo and graphic image each day. The Mandala will be an extra graphic.
I make my own black black and white backgrounds that I then painstakingly fill shape after shape with a different frame. If anyone wants to use these background I can send a set of those direct to you. Contact me by email.

Living in a state that is really flat in most Places around the coast, I am used to roads being very straight, and not having to deal with the kind of things people deal with in states like Tennessee and North Carolina. They actually make roads that go uphill off the highways, designed exclusively to help "runaway trucks" come to a stop! Going downhill and riding your brakes just can't be done, or you can lose those brakes! Trucks have off roads where it's safer for them to barrel in, knowing that the incline will help them should they get into trouble and be unable to brake.
Once I was riding in North Carolina when my then fiance, David, made a comment, "You smell that? That's the smell of a truck about to lose its brakes". Going downhill and trying to slow tons of big rig down is really dangerous. There's a learning curve when it comes to driving in mountainous areas.
One of the prettiest views I've ever seen, this mountain pass was exactly what I'd hoped to see on the return trip from Bristol, Tennessee.
This shot was taken at a scenic overlook that I believe was in North Carolina.
