Ebony relaxing in the yard for a moment, after trying to keep away from Lily as much as possible. Of course, as soon as I went to Ebony to take her picture, Lily came running behind me to see what was going on, and Ebony had to move again. :P

At Waverly Hills Sanatorium, Louisville, Kentucky.
A former tuberculosis hospital where some 63,000 people died, Waverly Hills is said to be one of the most haunted places in the world. Yeah, well . . . . I saw nothin' strange. It was fun to visit though.

Looks like the hooligans have been climbing on the sign, rather than the rocks.
Anyway, I reckon this could be for 365 Treasure Hunt, number 34. Health and Safety.

and act cute, nibble on her scarf for a second (grabbing her attention) and maybe she would drop a treat or two on us.
This pic is a major experiment ... first I tonemapped it, then I used the Orton effect on it. What do you think? ( ... please be nice! ...)
Out on Tuesday for a wander around Lewes, and a play with the Art modes in the Olympus Pen-F.
There was road works to the right of this and it was chaos, and yet they were good little motorists and kept this bit clear :))

Poem.
As old as the hills.
Literally.
Chunks of Devonian Old Red Sandstone
make up its road-facing, end-wall.
Moss festoons the damp thatched roof,
where south-westerlies often bring rain.
Chimneys mark where the old stoves once stood,
to keep the incumbents warm.
Pink-washed dwellings mirror the iconic
“Rose Cottage Tea-Rooms” across the road.
Behind these very windows children once
chanted their tables, sang their songs,
recited the Capes and Bays of Africa and
listed the dates of the Kings and Queens of England.
I can still hear the “hurrahs,” from the pupils,
as they ran out to play in the small yard,
where Cabbage Palms now stand.
I can picture rolling hoops,
playing “conkers,” bouncing a ball
and jumping to “Hopscotch.”
Now, this classic Devon village of archetypal tea-rooms and
Donkey-Cart rides has a shop to please the throngs of visitors
who delight in its Olde-Worlde Devon charm.
Ice-creams, post-cards and stamps.
hot and cold drinks and snacks,
souvenirs and sweets, toffee and fudge.
A George V1 post-box and benches,
for those waiting at the bus-stop,
for the bus to Torquay.
Devon as Devon is!

The incline is overgrown at padarn country park in Llanberis and remember to keep your distance if walking there.
I'm still in Newport Beach for a couple more days. I went to the Getty Museum in LA with my cousin Cheryl last week and it is an amazing piece of architecture. There are some world famous pieces of art there but I enjoyed the gardens and architecture more:-)). Well worth a visit if you're in the area. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getty_Center
Unfortunately, it was mid day and had to deal with some harsh light. Would be great to shoot this place late in the day but dealing with the traffic would be a nightmare!!
I'm trying to keep up with Flickr but have been really busy and my internet connection is frustratingly slow at times.
Sorry, this got posted as individual posts. I had them marked as private (I thought) while I added others but I guess it was public?? Some comments have disappeared unfortunately.
