I joined fellow friend and County Moth Recorder Colin Plant for a wander around Hexton Chalk Pit on Sunday afternoon for a few hours, Colin had already done some field work there early afternoon, but with the windy conditions it was far from ideal.
It was however really mild and temperatures got to just shy of 21 degrees by 4pm.
It was great to see Cauchas fibulella still present amongst the Germander Speedwell, a quick few flicks of the net over the foodplant, yielded 2 examples

My next RC plane will be the Pulse 125. A recommended modification is the addition of a second pushrod (joined to the first) so that both elevators are controlled. This is sample test with some coathanger wire, thin copper wire harvested from speaker cable, and a 30W soldering iron with rosin core solder... and PLENTY of flux.

Every summer I join my old friend Eelis on a building project. Again this summer it was the sauna cottage he has been working on for 3 years now I think. This year it was time to build a raised terrace in front of the cottage but first a break while a thunder storm raged outside.
Kids joined mother Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in her ongoing poll campaign in Amethi. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is campaigning for Congress in Amethi along with her children Raihan and Miraya. She has been campaigning in Amethi and Raebareli, the constituencies of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi respectively. This is Priyanka Gandhi’s second leg of campaign in the poll bound Uttar Pradesh.

Artemisia Gentileschi
The archangel Gabriel kneels before the Virgin Mary to tell her that she has been chosen to bear the son of God. A cartelino (an illusionistically painted piece of paper) bears the artist's name and the date 1630, the year Artemisia arrived in Naples. Painted in her late thirties, this is the first altarpiece of Artemisia's career (its original destination is unknown). The numerous alterations she made to the compositino imply that painting on this scale clearly presented its challenges.

Artemisia painted subjects that were traditionally the preserve of male artists and for the male gaze; transforming meek maidservants into courageous conspirators and victims into survivors.
In this first major exhibition of Artemisia’s work in the UK, see her best-known paintings including two versions of her iconic and viscerally violent ‘Judith beheading Holofernes’; as well as her self portraits, heroines from history and the Bible, and recently discovered personal letters, seen in the UK for the first time.

VABC was founded by the Lichtenstein Family in loving memory of their son and brother, Gary, who lost his battle with brain cancer in 2003. The mission of VABC is to find a cure for brain cancer by advancing scientific research, increasing awareness within the medical community, and supporting patients, their families and caregivers afflicted with this devastating disease.

The Jewish congregation formed in 1847 and that eventually would join the Reform movement and be called Rodef Shalom had a good problem: it kept growing larger.
After building several structures in the crowded streets of Allegheny City -- now Pittsburgh's North Side -- a new temple was to be constructed in the more wide-open spaces of the East End near Oakland, which was becoming the city’s cultural center.
Rodef Shalom turned to architect Henry Hornbostel, who created a Beaux Arts masterpiece for Western Pennsylvania’s oldest Jewish congregation. Employing yellow brick, with terra cotta pieces providing bursts of color and detail, the building has a 90-foot high squared dome that used the Guastavino vaulting system instead of steel.

A unique feature at Rodef Shalom, which opened in 1907, is the Biblical Botanical Garden that pairs biblical verses with plants native to the Holy Land.
Rodef Shalom Temple entered the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, and is listed with the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation.
