"The Spadina Wave Deck The first WaveDeck was constructed at the Spadina Head of Slip, consisting of a 620 metre squared undulating wood pedestrian deck over water, adjacent to the foot of Spadina Avenue south of Queens Quay Boulevard. Construction started in November 2007 by Somerville contractors and lasted 10 months. The Spadina WaveDeck links two waterfront parks: Music Garden and HTO Park. The WaveDeck cost $4.1 million to build and is made of 3,564 wooden planks.
The Spadina WaveDeck won the 2009 Toronto Urban Design Award[3] of Excellence in the Small Open Space category"
"The geometry of the WaveDeck is carefully conceived using playful curves that are constantly changing to create ledges for seating and new routes to access the water’s edge. It allows for different vantage points and ultimately different experiences with both the lake and the city."

Lothian Buses operated Volvo B5TL Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 Stealth SF17 VNV - 484 - is pictured on Princes Street in Edinburgh with a service on route X26 towards Port Seton.
This vehicle wears a partially revised Lothian Fleet Of The Future livery, retaining the thicker diagonal gold outlines but with the gold hook on the sides removed. It carries Edinburgh Zoo branding in the form of being the Penguin Bus and requests you join the parade. Would you like to join the parade to Edinburgh Zoo? Well you'd need to ask the penguins where their parade starts from as I have no clue and I doubt they'd go along the entire bus route lol.

When I was a boy I was travelled with my parents once in month through high Hills. The route was so long from Office place to our home approx. 10hrs. journey, sometimes due to landslide it goes to 15/20 hrs. So many times I have watched evening in Hills from Cars or Bus. That time I thought I have to sit such a place where clouds are coming from Top of the Hill to Down and light goes down and I am sitting alone and thinking something different, no crowd, no people, no disturbance, no busy life ..only alone.
My Friends, after 26 years I have found the same situation in Sachen, This capture when I have taken, I was alone, friends were busy in talking on that trekkers hut, I was sitting in a place near to the trekking route. The clouds are coming from upside of the hill to below and low light due to evening..what a coincidence!!!! I beleive sometimes what we think today may be(sometimes) it will come true in future.
I have enjoyed that evening very much. The story will continue....
Wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2012

Europe - Germany - Deutschland - Saxony - Sachsen - Saxon Switzerland National Park - Sächsische Schweiz - Hilly climbing area around the Elbe valley - Elbe/Labe Sandstone Mountains - Bizarre & intriguing landscape with huge, smooth rocks & deep, narrow valleys & gorges - Bastei - Rock formation towering 194 metres above the Elbe River
This is one of those extremely famous viewpoints on the iconic Bastei bridge among rocks. Unfortunately it is also extremely small and only 3-4 photographers can stand there next to each other, so getting to the "front row" is really tricky and you need to be there very very early. Compared to my previous post, this one was taken earlier this week, with many many photographers around as autumn colors are wonderful now as was the weather forecast for those few days. Very different atmosphere with lots of fog from the Elbe river valley.

Slot Canyon Ghosts & Light Beams Dancing in Antelope Valley, Arizona! The shafts of sunlight catch the dust and bring it to life! Nikon D800E Dr. Elliot McGucken Fine Art Photography for Los Angeles Gallery Show!
Will be busy printing and framing in nice large, matted formats and frames and museum glass! Five of these photos will be printed on 40" x 60" floating wall mounted metal sheets! I think I know which--will share photos of the photos hanging on the walls!
And I am mounting some on plexiglass/acryllic--front mounting them! Some I am printing on lossy fuji-crystal archival paper too, and then front mounting 40"x60" versions to plexiglass--will send photos!
The secret to HDR photography is that you want people to say, "Woe dude--that's unreal!" And not, "Dude--that's not real!" "Unreal" is the word they use when they're trying to figure out the photo--what makes it cool--is it a photo? Is it painted? How'd it come to be--how'd you bend the light that way? "That's not real," is what they say if you have the saturation/HDR/ etc. turned up too high. :)
Some (almost) final edits for my Los Angeles Gallery Show! Printing them on metallic paper at 13" x 19" and mounting and framing them on a 4mm 18x24 white mat and 2" dark wood frame. Also printing some 40" x 70" whihc is over three feet by five feet! Wish you all could come (and hang out with the goddesses)!
Let me know your favs.!

These were shot with Nikon's best D810 with the 14-24mm wide-angle Nikkor lens. 7 exposures were taken at 1 EV intervals, and combined in photomatix to bring out the shadows and highlights.
Rather large HDR (high dynamic range) photo--you can see great detail both near and far! View the detail at full size!
The Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Nikkor Wide Angle Zoom Lens rocks!
High Dynamic Range (HDR) photos rock in capturing the full dynamic range of the scene!
All the best on your epic hero's odyssey from Johnny Ranger McCoy!
Joining the manipulation group has made me want to experiment again, this is an old shot which I enjoyed creating.

Asia - Laos - Vientiane Province - Vang Vieng - Small traditional town surrounded by Limestone Hills - Bamboo footbridge bridge over Nam Song River
Vang Vieng is a small town surrounded by mountains & rivers. The main attractions are caves, Hmong villages, and the natural mountain scenery. A favorite with travelers - many stay longer than planned. However this town became too famous for them and became a party village. Music and noise last until late night. The market is located five kilometers north of the town selling Lao textiles, household items and several stalls selling dubious foodstuffs. It is possible for stalls to sell bats, squirrels, monkeys, rats, mice and other animals as food. In the town there is a wat that is notable in looking rundown and keeping its valuables chained behind a door. The town is situated on the main north-south highway, Route 13 from Luang Prabang to the capital, Vientiane.
The real attractions of the area are the scenery, the limestone hills and the numerous caves and caverns. Vang Vieng is set along the banks of the Nam Song River. In the near distance towering behind Vang Vieng are the most incredible rock formations. They are jagged limestone karsts that tower above the jungle - steep walls which have somehow eluded the jungle's grasp. In the morning hours a fine mists hovers just above the jungle at the base of these formations. In the evenings they form an incredible back drop for picture taking during the "golden hour."

In 1987 the Southern Region joined the modern age and set about renumbering the vast majority of it's third rail EMU stock that hadn't already gained TOPS compliant set numbers. Prior to this date renumbering had largely been focused on refurbished sets like the class 411 4-CEPs. The class 423 4-VEP fleet saw set numbers 7701 to 7894 dropped in favour of 3001 to 3194. Thus the full TOPS identity being 423 001 to 423 194. Lack of front end space largely dictated the age old practice of using just 4 digit set numbers was perpetuated, which in truth looked much more tidy. They had tried six digit numbers on early refurbished 4-CEP units and the digits nearest the vestibule connection often became tarnished with dirt not reached by the carriage washers and aesthetically just looked crowded with 6 + 6 digits across the units front like eyebrows.
From 1988 onwards BR set out on a major mid life refurbishment programme for the whole 4-VEP fleet. To distinguish refurbished from un-refurbished sets the class gained a sub fleet designation so un-refurbished became class 423/0 while refurbished became class 423/1 (although some insist it was 423/4) This being driven by the new number range starting with 34xx. It couldn't start with 31xx because of the fleet size already having 31xx numbers and 32xx and 33xx had already been taken by class 413 4-CAP units. As units were released for works pretty much on a one in one out basis It took seven years to complete the task and the new number range was thus 3401 to 3591, by this date several sets had been disbanded.
Set no.3167 allocated to Ramsgate depot is seen leading class 411/5 4-CEP no.1540 into the down passenger loop at Headcorn while working train 2R20 the 10.00 London Charing Cross to Ashford.
