While researching L.S.Lowery's crowds I found that he would quickly sketch scenes on whatever paper he had available then return to his studio to create the images in oil. I liked this idea of rough sketching and applied it to my work on public transport. 'Yellow Jacket Woman' is a sketch on a bus ticket that the woman dropped when leaving the bus. I felt making the sketch personal to this person helped record a time in her life.
