From Vogue Winter 2005-06, shawl collar jacket by Svetlana Avrakh, done in Red Heart Super Saver multi, Monet colorway. This is heavier and stiffer than the aran merino the pattern called for, but I'm allergic to wool and had this on hand. Fits well, very warm.

My boyfriend wanted me to revamp an old coat of his. I decorated the back, added silver skulls and bleached fabric to the pockets in front, and made a detatchable hood for it.

While researching L.S.Lowery's crowds I found that he would quickly sketch scenes on whatever paper he had available then return to his studio to create the images in oil. I liked this idea of rough sketching and applied it to my work on public transport. 'Yellow Jacket Woman' is a sketch on a bus ticket that the woman dropped when leaving the bus. I felt making the sketch personal to this person helped record a time in her life.
