You deserve love.

I had a great time with friends tonight at the stitch 'n bitch at Natalie's place. Lots of good company and yummy eats - like Jason's made from scratch quiche! Yum yum!

From yesterday's photo walk - thank you to Michael for the good eye! :)

We had a good day out with friends - dim sum with some of the photo walk crew, coffee in Kensington Market then a wander about and then another coffee pitstop here in this little cafe on College Street.

Funny thing is that this birthday cupcake was bought by a stranger. A stranger that came into the cafe with a bouquet of flowers and a birthday song for Rosa who worked there. It then came up it was Jerome's birthday too and he bought Jerome this for his birthday. Candle courtesy of me - I had it and a pack of matches in my pocket for just such an emergency.

Then a young lady and her friend came in to get a cupcake for her birthday. Rosa turned to me and asked me if I had a spare candle which I did. :) What a great coincidence!

Happy birthday my friend - and maaaaaaany moooooooooooore!! Huuuuuuuugs!

Much love and healing vibes go out to Donna and her family as they work through the loss of their beloved son Benjamin. My sincerest condolences to you all. ox

Choir! Choir! Choir! had a good time tonight (and so did I) at Nathan Phillips Square for Cavalcade of Lights!

Thank you to Laurie for the good luck charm of Liza the Diva Duck! Gotta love friends like that. :)

I met up with a bunch of wonderful photographer folks today for dim sum and walk about Kensington Market.

I had some fun watching the belly dancers and then went for coffee with my friend Geoff.

Simple day but great day. Thanks folks!

I met up with my wonderful creative friends last night for a stitch 'n bitch and potluck. Great company, yummy food and projects abounded.

I'm hoping to use this lovely cotton-silk blend yarn to make a sweater. Last night was more practice on getting the gauge right and remembering things I haven't done in a very long time. This is my eventual goal:

Wish me luck!

Not that I need help in this department but hey, can't complain about tea freebies and deals! There's even one to share with a friend. :)

Sit, stay! :)

Cute alley way find from this evening's after dinner walk.

I was feeling mighty yucky last night and this morning so I opted to stay home since I barely slept last night.

But thankfully I wasn't down completely for the count and I finished up a bunch of holiday cards to mail out to family and friends. I've already sent out about two dozen. :)

Of course, I still have to do a whack of gift making but hey, this is a good start!

Happy weekend everyone!

I finally got the Bush Pig (actually it's a Bush Pilot mountain bike but I think this name for it better) out on the road today and headed out for a ride about.

As I was riding along, I remembered "Hey it's Monday and the Sorauren Farmers Market is on!" I rode a bit more and then made my way over. Apparently it was their first one of the season too according to a fellow I spoke to there.

I had this *yummy* corn tortilla to snack on and then a chocolate Augie's ice pop and a nice cup of coffee. I bought a loaf of potato and olive oil bread, some yummy cheese and mixed greens. :)

Great day out and about! Back to work tonight to finish off the last four catnip blankies since the monsters are on hold until Wednesday when I get more stuffing for the remaining army members.

I got out today for a hair cut and a walk about with the new pink camera as well as my Graflex. Oopsied with another double exposure ... I *really* need to get used to chanting "Aim, shoot, ADVANCE!" when I'm out with it. But hey, it's a learning curve and I really do like shooting with it and can't wait to see the results from the next roll.

The sun and fresh air was so nice and light down by the Harbourfront was lovely.

With getting home late on Sunday and then playoffs last night, this has been the first evening I've had a chance to try this new tea that I bought at Serenity Lavender in Colchester on the way back from Point Pelee. It smells woooooonderful and tastes just as lovely.

The winking kitty teapot was found at an antiques place we found along the way too. Unfortunately I forgot to grab a business card so I don't remember exactly where it was. But I did take a bunch of photos at the house where this fellow had set up shot. Lots of great and quirky things!

Wow. What a day!

I hope you all had a good day - it was soooooo nice that the sun came out for us! :)

I'm *exhausted*! It was quite the day and a big variety of wow reactions to Laurie's "36 Random Acts of Kindness" birthday mission. There were a lot of random confused looks too. lol!

From delivering tennis balls to a dog park, buying lunch for a young man (who was very thankful) at our lunch stop, paying for a hair cut at the barber (the young man who was about 17 was excited about the idea and said he knew what he was going to do for his birthday now!), handing out candy and also roses to strangers, care kits at a women's shelter, hiding ziplocks of little toys and bottles of bubbles at parks, etc. It was awesome but soooo tiring! We gave a rose to one young lady and she was thrilled - her birthday is tomorrow. :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and do something nice for a stranger if you can. :)

... a sunny day out on my bike.

Honestly, it's been a bit of a mixed bag day on the roller coaster of emotions. But I'm very glad I got out to enjoy the sunshine and got in a ride with Dring.

Hope you all have had a good weekend!

*hugs*

The snow wasn't very good for packing tonight but I tried anyways and add a couple of a pair of arms to spruce him up a bit. And gave him a nice view of this festive sight.

On a whim, I went by the Tuesday meet up spot to cheerlead and watch Daveed and Nobu lead the next generation of choir. Unfortunately there was only nine 12 - 14 year olds but they did a pretty good job for a first try and with such a small group.

Bonus to all of this besides listening to this wonderful young folk sing?? Bumping into someone I haven't seen since the early 1990's and finding out a mutual friend that I lost contact with is now in Toronto not Edmonton. And then having her come by the bar to join us.

Talk about a super awesome 'It's a Small World' moment!!! Whoo hooo! :D

But I'm certain it will be worth the wait! Got my holiday loot in the mail from Kat today but have been given strict instructions to wait until Christmas (it's sooooo far away!) before I can open it.

Can't wait! Thank you my dear grrl! oxo

... my dear friends.

I escaped the confines of home to run an errand this evening and dropped off some of my old shelves with my friend Phil with the help of my buddy Michael. Michael and I then went to Moonbean for a latte.

Not sure if I'll make it into work tomorrow. Still icky and sniffly. :p At least I got some sewing done today so that was a good thing.

It's the Little Things 2.0 #239

I went to go downstairs to get the mail and found a tag on my door for a package. I found five Christmas cards and one awesomely inappropriate fridge magnet in my mailbox. And then found out I got some fabulous loot from Texas! Whoo hoooo!

Thank you to Joanne, Teddy, Diane, Carol, Aunt Terry and especially Kelly for her faboo gifts - and I swear there was no message on the box saying I couldn't open it early!! ;p

Sometimes it's hard to find balance in life. Life is hectic and it can sweep you away from all the important things with all little details that seem like a big deal but really aren't.

Always remember how friends, family and the simple things can make life much richer and cherish them.

It's the Little Things 2.0 #218

I had a good day today and accomplished most of what I set out to do so that makes me happy.

Lots of little things caught my eye but admittedly I was mission-minded and didn't take any outdoor photos.

But lovely clouds, sunshiny skies, cute old hounds howling happily about being out on walkies all made me smile today. And reminded me to always look for the beauty - even if I don't stop to click it. :)

I hope everyone had a great day too!

I spent part of this sunny day at King and John with some of my fellow Choir folks singing a song to protest again Putin and his anti-gay laws. Wonderful energy and music and great folks! Even the Bicycle Musical Festival folks rode by to ring for us and lend their support.

I messed up trying to get a video - I'll try again tonight at 8pm when we sing again. Come join us!

In the meantime, you can hear Daveed sing the song here and with passion!

Russians

Written by Sting and Sergie Prokofiev; Revised lyrics by Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman.

Around the world and in Canada

There's a fear of Russian homophobia.

We're voices standing up to all the threats

And discriminating laws of the President

Mister Putin says, "We will arrest you."

We don't subscribe to his point of view.

It's such an ignorant thing to do

Don't the Russians love their children too.

How can you hurt your girls and boys

With archaic laws and violent ploys?

We have no monopoly on common sense

But we can't sit silent to political threats.

We share the same biology, regardless of ideology.

Believe us when we say to you,

We hope the Russians love their children too.

There's plenty of historical precedent

To put the words in the mouths of the dissidents

There's no way in hell that you're winning this war,

With lies that we don't believe anymore.

Mister Putin thinks he can bury you,

Believe us when we say to you,

We know the Russians love their children too

We share the same biology, regardless of ideology.

And what might save us, me and you,

Is that the Russians love their children too

What might save us, me and you,

Is that the Russians loooooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvveeee!!"

I made some soup tonight in hopes of making myself feel better. If memory serves me right, I haven't had a cold since January. Not that I was missing them. :p

Thank you to all the friends and coworkers that came by today to lend their support at my first fair today! And thank you to friend and coworker Bettina that invited me to participate in the event. :)

But the BIG thanks goes to my friend Michael that helped me haul everything up to Woodbridge and back and kept me company for most of the day and minded the table here and there when I needed him.

You're just faaaaabulous! THANKS!! ox

Though admittedly I'm going out again later for Choir, it was great to get send home early from work and settle in with a nice cuppa!

Made a pitstop along with the way and picked up these fun cameras at Chapters (they're on sale for $7 you photo nerds!) - thanks to fellow photo grrl Laurie for the head's up!

Cute mug courtesy of Joann. :)

I met up with my friend Jerome for gift exchange and dinner. I got some very lovely tea (Monkey Picked Oolong from Teavana) and an absolutely cute card with a customized and Jerome-warped envelope. :)

Thank you my friend!

It is now daylight just after 7 a.m. so I can walk through the park to church today :) There are no lights in the park.

I know it probably should be one photo, but I couldn't so here we have a collage :)

The pink hat tickled me, she looks so funny & cute. I made some 'pupcakes' in muffin cases. Made from grated carrot, a banana, an egg, oats, some wholemeal flour, coconut oil, peanut butter (without sugar & salt) and honey. I found the recipe online. I added some primula cheese 'icing'.

As you can see, Evie approved of my baking, licked the cheese off and ate the cake in two large chunks lol. I tried one and it wasn't bad at all, just not as sweet as normal.

To top it off, Flickr labelled her a bear again :) Happy Birthday Evie bear :)
