My friend brought me some flowers. Yesterday, I noticed this little guy climbing on a rose. (surprised to see him and I'm wondering where he came from this time of year). Isn't it true that sometimes it's the "little things. :)
Here's another chipmunk shot! One of my favorite critters around the yard.
I haven't seen or heard the juvenile hawks since I posted that last picture. They must leave after they learn to fly? At least the chipmunks have less predators after them now.
Just had a week away in the glorious sun in North Devon. came home to see some beautiful colours and Springtime flowers! 😊😊
I found this Chipmunk sitting on this rock with tired eyes. Her/ his eyes kept closing but opened each time I clicked my camera to take a picture.
Nuts are among my basic foods in winter. They have lots of different vitamins and are not only supposed to boost the immune system but they are also food for the soul and I'm convinced that they help me to keep my sanity during the long months of winter. Don't go nuts, eat nuts ! :)
The nuts in this photo are walnuts, hazelnuts and macadamia nuts.
Have a lovely weekend everyone. I hope the snow stays away and you all stay safe and warm!!
Sometimes it really is the little things that count!!
I've never seen one of these very colourful flies before so I asked around and a friend seemed pretty sure that it is a male phasia-hemiptera usually seen in the southern part of the country during the summer months. I saw this beaut about a week ago at Tring Nature Reserve (College Lake) Have a great day HFDF!!
Summer evenings on a beautiful sunny day are a little thing that I enjoy, the heat has eased, the light casts long languid shadows and the pets enjoy it too. Full of flowers and insects buzzing about happily.
I managed to catch Twiggy just sitting looking out across the garden. She normally comes running but she was watching a butterfly and hoping to catch it, she didn't :)
14/52 It rained all day yesterday until about 4:00 and then the sun came out and made the blossomless trees look magical.
If you enlarge this photo you will see that Pixie's eye has a small brownish mark in it. I have "Dr. Googled" it and it would appear it is an iris melanosis which is quite common, but usually in older cats. We are off to the vet's later today and I am hoping that this little thing is nothing to worry about - wish us luck.

Sometimes the little things in life are more than enough. An innocent and pure happiness - white roses.
This Bumble Bee needed something sweet and was very lethargic, so I gave it some sugary water and then carefully placed it amongst flowers that it likes. Fingers crossed my little good deed helped it on it's way.
Life is most definitely about the little things! :-))
ID suggestions welcomed.
Happy Beautiful Bug Butt Thursday for tomorrow my flickr friends and thank you in advance for your kind views, faves and comments. :-))))))
I found this feather wrapped around a branch with berries in the wind. I liked the composition and background for it. Sometimes, it is the little things in life that make you smile.
On a very hot but beautiful summer day loving the sun and posing so elequently for a quick snap for me at College lake a couple of weeks ago.
Received a snow, rain, ice storm today...white out and very slippery road conditions. Now it's raining all the snow melting and tomorrow is to be +20 Degrees Celsius.:) I wasn't able to take photos today, but had lots of bird visitors when I got home from work, reminded me of this photo I took from this past winter. 💙🐦
4/52 One of my neighbors has lights on her back fence all year long. I once told her I feel like I should help pay her electricity bill because I get to enjoy them every single night. I can see these lights from my bed and they delight me every time I look at them.
The main photo was a mistake. I accidentally moved my lens ever so slightly while taking the picture and I got the light trails. The picture in the comments show what the lights actually look like.
It's the little things... like coming across some beautiful wattle on the first of spring. This wattle was spectacular! Big fluffy balls of bright yellow and sweet smelling. It was a huge tree just loaded with flowers!
Fresh dew drops enhanced a tad for HSS! Sun is shining at the moment creating beautiful droplets on my over long grass this morning
10/52 Sorry I've been so absent lately. I spent last week having a wonderful vacation with Bennilover and Jedi5150. I then returned home long enough to work a few days, get sick, nap with the cats and then leave town again. I sincerely hope next week will be the week things return to normal and I can check in on all my Flickr friends.
I came across something similar on the internet & really liked it, so I thought I'd give it a go. I collected many potential pebbles at the seaside last weekend , and this is my first attempt. I varnished the pebbles with clear matt varnish, painted eyes on them (googly eyes would melt!) then superglued them together.
I quite enjoyed my bit of creativity, relaxing and fun. I like how they are highlighted by the candle light, like a pebble family gathering around a fire. Another photo in normal light below.
2/52 I have just rediscovered coloring books. My latest way to waste time is to listen to an audiobook while coloring. Seriously. There's something very satisfying, especially in the dead of winter, about seeing a black and white page transform into bright, energetic colors.
For the week 22 theme of "It's the Little Things" for Through The Lens, this image taken on a CBD walk last night with Flickr friends.
Lensbaby Sweet 80.
I decided to trim Evie this afternoon, her fur was getting very thick & woolly and harder to brush, besides it's still warm. Photos below show Evie and her fur explosion! I got the idea for some creative fun and made the mini me. I did hoover up afterwards :)
A perfect boiled egg for breakfast is one of the little things that pleases me at the start of the working day, along with a slice of wholemeal toast. I buy large free range eggs and it has to be boiled for 8 minutes for it to be just right for me. I hate runny whites in an egg so boiling for 8 minutes leaves just enough runniness in the yolk but not in the white part. I am so fussy about this that I would never have an egg or anything made with an egg (e.g.omelette, scrambled eggs, quiche) when eating out as I couldn't bear to find it to be runny.
PS The eggcup was a gift from Phill

I think I'll join Bennilover in her weekly challenge- "It's the little things".
1/52 My preference is to go barefoot but if I have to wear shoes, my UGG slippers are my footwear of choice. I'm not into brand names but these slippers are pretty much perfect. I wear them daily for about 10 months out of the year and they are just as pleasing to me now as they were when I bought them 12 years ago.

I love wattle, it is so bright and sunny. It's the little things.... like catching sight of the first wattles of the season as you drive along the highway leaving the city. 12/52
Acacia or commonly known as wattle, is a large genus of shrubs and trees in the subfamily Mimosoideae of the pea family Fabaceae. Berrima Reserve, Berrima in the Southern Highlands, New South Wales.
... that I love to have around me. Little things made from plain, unfinished, natural wood.

My first photo for the group It's the little things---
I found this little nest on the ground in Hawaii about five years ago---there were no eggs in it at the time---I carefully transported it home--put it in an apothecary jar and added tiny eggs I found at a craft shop--it's one of my favorite little things as it reminds me of the place I love and where I always feel connected to nature
I love reading about social history through the actual books and magazines of those times. This book we found in a junk shop eons ago is a prime example. I had to buy it for this page alone: I mean, a boy likes a girl who gets up early to go fishing!?!? Boys and men hate scenes?!? No mention of what girls like - lol. We have an old good housekeeping book from the Victorian period and one whole chapter is dedicated on how to deal with your servants. Different times, different times.

38/52 Big Mack was my only cooperative model this year. Jimmy yanked off his pirate costume every time I tried to put it on him and Ella wouldn't even let me get near with her Yoda ears. Mack makes a pretty cute cowboy but I think I like his Carmen Miranda outfit from last year better. It's the picture on his album if you haven't see it yet.
Did you notice that my only auto-tag was "grass". Flickr had absolutely no idea what to do with a cat dressed as a cowboy.
8/52 I thought that since I love cats, working for a cat-exclusive vet would be the perfect job - spending every day surrounded by cats, saving or improving the quality of their lives, taking care of them when they boarded... would be rewarding, and it can be. But most often it's encountering one cat after another who is sick, dying, in pain, terrified, angry... and interacting with their owners who are terrified, angry, in denial...
Finding wonderful homes for the kittens and cats we put up for adoption is part of the job that is a pure joy - one of the best little things.
Yesterday, both Dice and Delilah were adopted .

a good long soak with lots of bubbles, a lovely glass of wine and a good book!
A little self care.
HaPpY CrAzY Tuesday!!
19/52 This post may seem like a bit of a stretch for the Little Things group but it's not. Milo's recovery is one of those HUGE Little Things. I've worked in a cat clinic for 12 years and there have been many cases that have touched me but two really got under my skin - Milo's and Apollo's - probably because of the pain the owners went through knowing they had inadvertently caused their pet's near-death experience. As of yesterday morning, 50 hours after Milo was exposed to permethrin, there was still no improvement in his condition making his prognosis pretty poor. Imagine my joy this morning when I got to work and saw he was fully recovered. Yesterday afternoon his clinical symptoms completely disappeared and he has been a normal cat ever since. This picture was taken a couple hours ago and this evening he'll be home with his family.
There is a link to Apollo's story in the comments.

I love garlic in my food and even just one little clove can lift a meal completely. I love to smell it when it's cooking. My digestive juices work overtime when walking past Italian restaurants. Plus it is very good for you - though in moderation. Don't eat too much as a friend of my sister's once did many moons ago when we English did not go near garlic apart from holidays in Europe. The recipe called for 3 cloves of garlic. Having never cooked with garlic she thought a clove (yes you are way ahead of me) was a bulb and put 3 bulbs of garlic in the meal - oh how the family were ill:-(
