It's prob me being mad but I always think the Caer Caradoc looks like a sleeping dragon.

I always have a little chuckle (tinged with slight annoyance) when I see things in my drops that I didn't want to see...like the white paper I was using as background and the fence in the garden. You really have to be careful where you take these droplet photos!

7 Days With Flickr - Macro or Close-up (Wednesdays)

Because you guys liked #2 and told me to upload it. So you'd better like it... haha I kid, I kid...

No but seriously.

Oh, and my photo idea for today failed miserably.

Aaaaand I've been couch-ridden with a headache all day today. Stupid roller coaster hangover... ;P

Give me something to pass the time

IT is a rolling artwork at the exhibition Your Light Is My Life by Czech artist Krištof Kintera @ Kunsthal Rotterdam.

The artist takes IT by his side as he walks down the street.

IT provoces conversations about art.

i said it like i was supposed to, it hurt, it hurts, it hurting

Part of my set fenced-in landscapes

It wonderful to watch these beautiful graceful birds :))

There is a pair on the lake (well large pond ) near my veterinary surgery and I am hoping they are a breeding pair, so I will get to see their babies.

Thank you for your kind comments, Take care, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend my flickr friends !!

The 1361. Perhaps one of railroad preservation's biggest failures. For almost a year, the 1361 ran around Pennsylvania after a half-assed restoration. Once it was determined how dangerously inept the restoration was, the 1361 went back into the shop for corrections. For the last several decades. It can be said that the restoration is on the faster side of slow. Millions of dollars in taxpaper money was pissed down the drain while the "caretakers" of the re-restoration did next to nothing to make the "Pride of Altoona" operational again. Pride, indeed.

The joke of steam "preservation" was sizzling contently at York back in 1988. This shot, much like the restoration of the 1361 itself is a failure. Rods up with a distracting orange cooler on the tender deck and overcast as hell, this wonderful K64 image I guess is better than nothing. But that damned cooler on the tender has always bothered me about this shot. I know the crew deserved a cold drink while working hard, but that historically-inaccurate monstrosity could have been placed elsewhere in the cab for the sake of photography.

It's a hard life this work malarkey xx

Some more discdog fun!

Strobist info: two bare strobes, one on left, one on the right, pretty symmetrical. Both set to 1/8, triggered optically.

Used my Ricoh GR instead of the reflex, since the Ricoh syncs at insane speed compared to the 1/250 limit of the reflex. This is great for action shots!

Actually, we haven't sunlight here for weeks. It is so freeeeezzing cold outside.

Latest project. Will frame it for a friend. Spent thanksgiving together (in cabins on a beach) and our mantra to her was to "Keep It Simple". Fell in love with Alicia Paulson's Daisy Chain ABC's Crewel Work Sampler the first time I saw it.

Music Mood

Caught my eye and made me smile. Didn't take time to switch out the glass, so this was a manual focus shot with the "big gun."

Some people are like Slinkies - not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs. :-)

A macro of a slinky shot with my 50mm 1.8 and the Opteka 36mm extension tube attached.

Have a HSS and all that stuff my friends!

When we returned from our last alarm on Saturday morning, I noticed this little colorful tree on the side of the hospital's car park.

It made my day - isn't it beautiful?

Can't believe that this made it to Flickr's "Explore" #46 on 14 October 2012.

It's now or never,

Come hold me tight

Kiss me my darling,

Be mine tonight

Tomorrow will be too late,

It's now or never

My love won't wait.

Start censorship in one place and it has a terrible habit of drifting into other areas. I pity the organizations who try to bring it through. It makes me think they won't last too long.

it's just stunning to watch the clouds forming in such shapes and it's even more stunning how the colours are changing as the sun moves behind the horizon!

EXPLORE #117 we have paid off the house!

Now we need to save up for a new car.... our old 97 Mitsubishi mirage is running so rough. Hoping it will hold on until spring. I think if we are frugal enough, we can save enough for a car by then.

Also we need to save for retirement. Being old is expensive. A Large portion of people that we help at the food bank are retirement age folks.

chances are, if you've been to my house, for the last few months, you've seen hundreds of paintings in progress laid out on every horizontal surface available. but, chances also are, if you're reading this, you probably have not been to my house. so if you want to see the paintings, you'll have to meet me in LA on august 16th at giant robot for my art show titled "The wild life": 2062 sawtelle blvd, you heard it here first.

... Just got in the mail today! My 3G one was soooo slow that I was about to smash it on the wall…

My little sculpture of those "flying" men .. up, up and diagonally away!

Firstly i have to say a huge thank you to everyone for making yesterdays shot make it into explore, a huge surprise to me! Thank you so much.

Today i woke up feeling marginally worse after failing to get any real good nights sleep, however i didn't have time to feel sorry for myself. Tomorrow i'm going to my friends wedding and after brushing off the cobwebs off my old suit noticed i had put on an extra two inches round my waist! So it looked like i had to but a new suit. I spent two hours picking one and i'm paying for it now.

I am also out tonight for another close friends birthday, no rest for the wicked. The things i do for you guys.....catch you later, i'm off to collapse!

Oh and i did a lot of photoshop on this, i looked absolutely sleep depraved!

It took a nasty climb through blackberries and poison oak to get this view of my favorite bridge. Portland's St. John's bridge has always seemed like a gateway to a fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty's castle, the entrance to Camelot--bridges in general are beautiful creations, symbols of overcoming barriers, making connections, joining things together--architecture's most optimistic gesture. The beauty of this bridge is a tribute to the leaders of that time, who had the vision to create something more than just a utilitarian span--it's a piece of art and is magically uplifting to many.
