Die Iris verzaubert mit wunderschönen Blüten, in vielen verschiedenen extrem leuchtenden Farben. Daraus erklärt sich auch der Gattungsname Iris, welcher zu Ehren der griechischen Göttin des Regenbogens gewählt wurde.

...from my garden. This one is a particular favorite as it was a gift from my father several years ago. I look forward to it's blooms every spring!

Just a common iris growing near our garden pond, but until I started processing this photo I had no idea just how intricate and beautiful these flowers are. I could see some kind of pattern on the camera LCD and focused in on it and now I realise how beautifully structured they are.
