Unfortunately, my computer is acting strange and not working well, after a thunderstorm went through. We'll see if this picture posts...

Reflection and dark nebulae in Cepheus.These clouds of interstellar dust and gas have blossomed 1,300 light-years away.The pretty blue petals of the Iris Nebula span about six light-years. The dominant color of the brighter reflection nebula is blue, characteristic of dust grains reflecting starlight.

At Crewe open day on 22nd September 1979 Iris, the test coach was present. The unit was one of two that first saw service on the Banbury (Merton Street) to Buckingham trains. they were M79900 and M79901 single car Derby Motor Brake seconds that had two 150 b.h.p. engines for their 27 tons, they had seating for 52 passengers. Iris has become RDB 975010 and has "Train Control Group Research & Development Division, Derby" lettered down her sides. Happily the life extension as a test vehicle has seen Iris preserved

Iris morphology is the product of evolution acting to attract and compete for pollinators- a landing pad, guides to help find nectar and pollen, and even shelter from inclement weather. The function of fthe beard is uncertain though. The showiest outer parts are bracts, modified leaves, which surround the petals.

The irises are peaking just in time for a major winter storm sweeping through Colorado- 8 inches (20 cm) for the plains, 24 inches (60 cm) for the mountains.

The new CS5 now ships with HDR Pro. It is brilliant where as before it was not even worth looking at. Photomatix beware! This is a 7 shot HDR created with CS5.
