Real JardÃn Botánico de Madrid. El lÃrio azul cordobés o lÃrio del Guadiana (Iris planifolia (=Juno planifolia)) florece estos dÃas en nuestras nuevas mesas expositoras. Se trata de una especie que vive en herbazales y claros de matorral en la región mediterránea, desde Grecia y Creta hasta la PenÃnsula Ibérica, Magreb y Libia, asà como en las islas de Cerdeña y Sicilia.
El nombre común en portugués es muy evocador: lÃrio-de-amor-perfeito

This is the first iris I ever purchased - and that was easily 30 years ago. So this is one very durable variety!
