Iris Sibirica is growing on the alluvial meadows of Karuskose. Lot of flowers in June, Soomaa National Park
I think these are the prettiest irises I've ever seen. When they go to seed, I'm going to grab a few pods :)

From Turkey in 1895, this iris was one of the first tetraploids used in iris hybridizing. A fine garden plant. A personal favorite.
The Iris takes its name from the Greek word for a rainbow, referring to the wide variety of flower colors found among the many species
