Delicate, lemon yellow uprights, with lightly ruffled falls that have a slight taupe edging, in a rich pink toned maroon. White throats with flame tipped white beards.

DH and I are both passionate about gardening. And obsessed, I'm sure others would say. :) And addicted to collecting plants...irises, daylilies, hostas...but what's not to love? So much beauty in a blossom.

There are flag irises growing in the gardens at my block of units.

I toook this on a day when i already had something else chosen for the photo-a-day.

There have been a few occasions since then when i've thought of taking a picture of the flag irises for the photo-a-day. Invariably, on those particular days, the irises are having an "off" day, and there are no good flowers to photograph.

I suppose that once i post this old picture, i will find that the irises will once again be flowering beautifully when i dont need them to.
