Stuttgart's answer to the flat iron building.

Here's a closeup of the edge.

A detail from an old Bugatti, found at the "Retro Classics meets Barock" event in Ludwigsburg, Germany.

In this picture, I include a bit more of the surroundings than in this shot.

Why do you leave everyone? Why did you let me go?

Are you in pain because you feel unlovable, unknowable, and shrouded in secrets?

No matter how much we run, our heart stays with us. No matter how much we deny, our desires grow deeper. No matter how much we sacrifice, our souls will never be satisfied until we find love.

Another angle on the Uhlenhaut Coupé from 1955...

This is a hardtop version of the 300 SLR racing car which was developed for the 1956 racing season. As the company ceased its motorsport activities at the end of the 1955 season, it was never used. Instead, it was used by the head of the Test Department, Rudolf Uhlenhaut, as company car. Therefore the nickname.

302 hp, 180 mph, two units produced.

...He doesn't mind I have a Las Vegas past, he doesn't mind I have a L.A crass way about me.

He knows every inch of my tar black soul. He doesn't mind I have a flat broke down life. In fact, he says he thinks it's what he might like about me..

He likes to watch me in the bathroom slipping on my red dress, putting on my make up...

A boy must have his bling????

Today, I attended a show jumping tournament.

This pine tree located near the Bastei was made famous by the late german landscape photographer Fritz Pölking when he took a picture on new years eve 2000.

A slightly wider view than on the previous picture.

Quote from iPhotograph:

The world record car T80 was built in 1939 by Ferdinand Porsche. It was equipped with the plane motor DB 603 with 3,000 HP. The T80 should be the worlds fastest vehicle on 4 wheels. It was planned to race in 1940 with up to 600 km/h over the Autobahn. The start of WWII halted this project, so the T80 was never used.

YATCP (Yet another tiger cubs picture)...

Yesterday, we visited the open-air museum in Beuren, Germany. Among the old houses which are displayed there is also Germany's oldest still existing daylight photostudio from 1892.

A friend lent me this lens for these shots.

Unfortunately, this lens isn't mine (and probably never will be)...

Another shot of this little guy with cool toes.

This is one of my lovely students studying quite hard. She was overwhelmed by how to use semi-colons and the fact that she didn't know the identity of Nelson Mandela. The great man's name came up in class when the aforementioned lovely student asked for the definition of integrity and another student remarked that Nelson Mandela had integrity.

Yet another student asked for the location of Mandela's home country: South Africa. I gave them two clues: South and Africa. It didn't help.

This was all before 10 AM.

When visiting Australia, we took a "Jumping crocodile cruise" on Adelaide River.

It was very impressive to see those creatures jumping more than 2m high out of the water. Afterwards, we understood why the local authorities advise people against sitting on bridges with dangling feet.

A few days later, we did an excursion on Yellow Waters where the boats rail was only some centimeters above water level. And some crocodiles were only a few feet away... Gave us some eerie feelings. ;)

The New Palace reflects a lot of French influence. It was begun in 1746 and completed 1807. Only then it became a noble residence; rebuilt between 1958 and 1968.

Today, the central part of the building houses rooms for the representatives of the State Government while the side wings accommodate two ministries.

Also known by its nickname "Adenauer", as it was used as a representation vehicle of the young german republic. In the background, you can see the 300 SL Gullwing and the "Uhlenhaut Coupé".

The same squirrel as on this picture, taken a few minutes later.

Technically not a zoo animal, as it is a wild squirrel which just happens to live on the trees in the zoo area.

The new office supplies have arrived!!! and I'm putting them away...

Another angle on this building.

(The rectangular shape is a side effect of the perspective correction, in real life, the building is a cube.)

When I walk my dog, I often take the camera with one lens with me, so I "see" with the focal length of this lens. Yesterday, I bought myself a new macro lens (Tokina 100mm). Now, when I walk the same roads, I see a whole new world ... ;)

Here's another picture of the same spider, just a bit closer ...

I have the cutest, shyest, quietest student with the coolest sweatshirt.

Almost every day I make a math mistake and the students joke "it's okay, you're an English teacher, not a math teacher." Today they said the sweatshirt was a campaign for English studies instead of Math. I agreed.
