A little contrast to my previous architecture photos.
This house is built in the traditional timber framing style (black timber skeleton, white plaster).
I'm working on three projects at the same time, plus my regular duties. In addition, I have insane things on my mind.
All of this leaves little time for eating during the day...
The water I brought with me. The mentos were from a student. The chips were from a co-worker who just returned from his honeymoon.
I kinda wish someone had brought me a whiskey instead of all of that...

...Pick me up and take me like a vitamin
'Cause my body's sweet like sugar venom...
Yes, my Starbucks is in the lobby of the Empire State Building. My barista is named Alex and he is adorable and shy. Occasionally he draws smiley faces on my cups or writes little notes on them telling me enjoy my day or that I have a nice smile.
I enjoy him.
It's feels good to hear nice things.

This little bugger just explored my computer. After a short photo session, he's now safe outside again...

What the fuck was I thinking?
I'm developing my sense of humor until I can laugh at my heart between your teeth, until I can laugh at my face beneath your feet.
I'm having some trouble just breathing. If we weren't such good friends I think that I'd hate you. If we weren't such good friends I'd wish you were dead.
What the fuck was I thinking?

When I was standing just in front of this building, looking up, I somehow had the impression of seeing the bow of a big ocean liner (think "Titanic"). Although the chance is rather slim that an iceberg will bring this construction down...
I see you bite your bottom lip...
I almost hear you catch your breath...
I’m on a fire escape where you said to wait...
And I did...
I heard the cold wind say 'You’re a fool to stay,' but I did...
You’re not my home...

While playing (i.e. chasing each other), one of the tiger cubs fell into the water. The others obviously tried to pull him out of the water, but he was able to get out on his own (as you can see, he's standing in the water on a small ledge, so he could jump out of the water)

I found this inscription ('Atelier' is german for studio) over the entrance to the old photo studio.
As a reverence to the old times, I played a bit with it in photoshop to make it look older...
This young man was disgruntled with my David Beckham day and brought me some chocolates with this note...and his picture.
It looks more like a ransom note with a mugshot than a pleasantry.
Nevertheless, the chocolate was delicious.

It's been awhile since I visited downtown. Yesterday, I had to bring my main computer to service (I edited this picture on my 6 year old notebook...). To get at least something positive from the trip, I took my camera with me and snapped some more photos of the glass cube. This time including a sculpture on the backside.
One of these days I'll grow old and I'll grow brave and I'll go...
Yes, you're wondering what this is a picture of...
It's chocolate mousse cake with edible gold and pearls.

Today, we had to put Rocky down...
This is the last picture of him, taken 5 weeks ago...
His life in pictures ...
I was stuck at my desk all day.
A boy stopped by, bringing cookies.
The essay was written by a student, about me.
I might have cried.
