Weird interaction:
I was wandering around Bevo Mill taking pictures. I took a shot of some pallets stacked outside a business. As I was walking away, the business owner called out to me, tried to get way closer than I was comfortable with ("Why are you backing away?" "Dude.. there's a pandemic"), and tried to explain that those pallets were just there because they'd just gotten a shipment. I had to explain to someone for whom English was not his first language, from 6 feet away, that I just like taking pictures and I was not taking a picture of those pallets to hurt him in some way. It was uncomfortable and awkward.
Jay Z brings the Magna Carter World Tour -- his first solo trek in several years -- to the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma.
Absolutely fantastic show and great from a photographer's perspective too -- bright lights, lots of interaction -- all around a great time. The stage was a bit high and we only got two songs, but plenty of time to get some shots.

A quick sketch describing (in my own words) the role of interaction design in the Teaching and Learning centre at SFU. Yes... Disco!
Equilibria is a site-specific info-game installed in Venice’s Rialto market area, where people come every evening to relax and drink, and incorporates some of its site’s historic features. A line of ‘stepping stones’, it tests the player’s mental and physical state, and provides entertainment for bystanders.
"Equilibria" is a project from "Signals in Space" an interaction design studio course in the graduate programme in Communication and Multimedia Design in the Faculty of Design and Arts, Iuav University of Venice, 2009/10.

Explanation by Ana D’Apuzzo
Inspiration came from the drawing of Frank Lloyd Right for vitrage in which he was using primary colors (red, blue and yellow) and shapes (circle and square). My idea was to transform this simple but impressive 2D drawing into 3D shape which will fill the genial created immortal space!
Idea was to connect spiral walking parts by using colorful, translucent, semitransparent “bridges”. From central space in lantern strong light source will transmit ray of light-symbol of life till the ground level leaf-shaped place for sculpture of F.L. Right projected with in 4D laser in time and space.
Visitors will cross the space and chose walking tour, not one – way directed by spiral.
“Bridges” can connect same levels or next down level. On every bridge which cross Ray of light will be formed little circled island made as a pass in a way not to stop this light!
One transparent lift will pass trough the central space, so that people can use the “bridge” and go out at the moment when they see something interesting or to fell all new ambient.
The “bridges” are made from “led” materials which will give an extraordinary impression during the night.
Various interactions occur at the dog park.

So is this book any good? I skimmed through it, and it covered most of the basic ideas, brief (very) history, some pragmatic help on design research and types of deliverables and gave some take away quotes to help explain what it is that an interaction designer does.

The littlest kid was asking the performer if he could climb the brightly coloured totem pole he was pushing around. Sadly it was made out of cardboard so, no.
This was about the sweetest thing I saw all day. A guy in body paint, pink panties with fake buttocks, spikes sticking out of everywhere, carefully explaining to a small child why he couldn't climb on his artwork.
