made this cabinet for a flat screen TV. Customer bought the lift and television and asked me to make something around it. Some of the panels are removable to access the wiring and cable box. Also there is space to mount a surround speaker inside.
The veneers are walnut and rosewood all laid with the old technique of "Hammer veneering"
Top has a walnut burl with rosewood banding.

Time to give this a clean and get it mounted in the garden. Dad’s hand writing is under the flap.
I think I made this for Cub Scouts (approx 1978-1980). I think we brought the parts home and assembled it. Note the rubber flap - it’s a bit of printing rubber-like litho material. Dad was a printer.

Setting up a clean install of Windows XP from retail media -- 48 patches on the first pass, there are more that show up on subsequent invocations of Windows Update. Difficult to manage, if you're on dialup. link

For almost three years, there was no pedestrian signal for pedestrians who wanted to travel west or east on the north end of the Preston Avenue South and Circle Drive interchange in Saskatoon. This just recently got installed.

The magnificent west window at St Paul's church in Cookhill, the largest and finest in the church and the work of Birmingham artist Sidney Harold Meteyard, installed in 1933. The window commemorates four members of the Forster family and depicts Mary & Mary Magdalene at the Tomb of Christ being greeted by an angel who announces Christ's resurrection to them. On either side stand the archangels Gabriel and Michael.
Sidney Meteyard (1869-1947) was very much influenced by the Pre Raphaelites, especially Burne Jones, and was one of a distinguished group of Arts & Crafts artists designing stained glass in Birmingham at the time, trained at the Birmingham School of Art. He is better known for his paintings (three large examples being displayed in Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery), but has several excellent windows to his name.

Church of St Paul at Cookhill, Worcestershire (close to the border with Warwickshire), built in 1876 by noted local architect Frederick Preedy. The towerless church simply consists of nave and chancel arrangement with little structural division of the two.
Within it is a pleasantly light and airy space, but the real joy here lies in the stained glass, most specifically the beautiful Arts & Crafts west window by Birmingham-trained artist Sidney Meteyard.
The church is generally open to visitors during the weekends in summer months.
I installed the Accelero GPU cooler to my 8800 GTS (XFX AlphaDog) and ran into a little problem with cooling all the voltage regulators as the tape in the little memory heatsinks didn't hold very well anymore as I took them off from elsewhere.
So I figured out that I could do a holder from some aluminum sheet and bolt it to the holes around the chips. I drilled some large holes to the places where the heatsinks would be so that the air could get through well. The piece holds the heatsinks well in place and there isn't any worry of them dropping down on their own.
