Brought my camera to the grocery store today to take advantage of their great lighting. ha ha. We found so many fun benches, though! This was the favorite. Thank you Bench Monday for helping us see the world differently and starting off our week happily!

I spent the entire day yesterday inside my living room trying to get caught up on work and emails and other things and by four in the afternoon I started to feel like a caged bird, looking out the window and wanting to escape....

We bought some local strawberries (Fragaria, a hybrid between two species). My wife had to go somewhere, and asked me to wash them and cut them up, which I did. I decided to take the bowl out into the sunlight and take a photo. All I've done to the photo is to crop it.

When she got back, she put the berries into pies.

The Wikipedia tells me that each of the "seeds" is, in fact, an ovary, with a seed inside it, and that the red flesh of the fruit comes from the receptacle that holds the ovaries.

Larger sizes are available. Thanks for looking.

This was taken on a recent trip to Bali when we visited an art gallery/jewellers in a village called Sukawati around the Ubud area. This woman is gluing tiny pieces of metal onto "silver" balls ready to be attached to pieces of jewellery which they sell inside the gallery at a very reasonable price...

"Now its the burglars turn" said Thorin as they peered into the blackness of the tunnel. "We don't know whether the dragon is in there or not. Bilbo, you shall go investigate for us." Bilbo, feeling very bitter that he was chosen for these dangerous tasks, agreed reluctantly. Slowly he walked into the gloom. Finally, after what seemed like ages, Bilbo finally came to the end of the passage, and before him he could see a dim glow. Then suddenly, the passage ended, and a large space loomed ahead of him. That's when he saw the source of the glow. There he lay, a vast red-golden dragon, fast asleep; a thrumming came from his jaws and nostrils, and wisps of smoke, but his fires were low in slumber. Beneath him, under all his limbs and his huge coiled tail, and about him on all sides stretching away across the unseen floors, lay countless piles of precious things, gold wrought and unwrough, gems and jewels, and silver red-stained in the ruddy light. To say that Bilbo's breath was taken away is no description at all."

Well mates, yet another entry for the CCC, this one falling under "Hidden Treasure". This will be my ... seventh entry. Just one more to go! *Ugh

But yea, this one shows Bilbo's entry into he Lonely Mountain and his first encounters with Smaug the Terrible.

So there it is, C&CC welcome.

I probably wont be posting again before, so I want to wish you all a very Merry and Christ-full (Just to spite those X-mas legalists) Christmas! ;)

The Makam Pahlawan ( Malay for Heroes' Mausoleum ) is the burial ground of several Malaysian leaders and politicians, including Tun Abdul Razak. It is located near the Malaysian national mosque, Masjid Negara - Kuala Lumpur. Construction of the mausoleum began in 1963 under its project of the construction of Masjid Negara and was completed in 1965.

This unique cemetery is divided into two parts, inside and outside. Part of that is covered with a concrete dome in the form of star burst-seven and houses several tombs. With in the centre the symbol of the country, the Emblem of Malaysia (Jata Negara) and carvings of flowers out of marble from the island of Langkawi. The centre of the domed roof is adorned with decorative gold colored roses.

Interior of the Kamerlengo fortress in Trogir :)

Trogir is a historic town and harbour on the Adriatic coast in Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia. Since 1997, the historic centre of Trogir has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Trogir has a high concentration of palaces, churches, and towers, as well as a fortress on a small island. Trogir is the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic, but in all of Central Europe. Trogir's medieval core, surrounded by walls, comprises a preserved castle and tower and a series of dwellings and palaces from the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods. In the 3rd century BC, Trogir was founded by Greek colonists from the island of Vis, and it developed into a major port until the Roman period. In 1123 Trogir was conquered and almost completely demolished by the Saracens. However, Trogir recovered in a short period to experience powerful economic prosperity in the 12th and the 13th centuries. In 1420 the period of a long-term Venetian rule began. On the fall of Venice in 1797, Trogir became a part of the Habsburg Empire, which ruled over the city until 1918. After World War I, Trogir, together with Croatia, became a part of the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs and subsequently, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. During World War II, Trogir was occupied by Italy and subsequently liberated in 1944. Since then it belonged to the second Yugoslavia, and from 1991 to Croatia.

Mehrangarh Fort, located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, is one of the largest forts in India.

The fort is situated 122 m above the city and is enclosed by imposing thick walls. Inside its boundaries there are several palaces known for their intricate carvings and expansive courtyards. A winding road leads to and from the city below. The imprints of cannonball hits by attacking armies of Jaipur can still be seen on the second gate. To the left of the fort is the chhatri of Kirat Singh Soda, a soldier who fell on the spot defending the Mehrangarh fort.

There are seven gates, which include Jayapol (meaning 'victory'), built by Maharaja Man Singh to commemorate his victories over Jaipur and Bikaner armies. Fattehpol (also meaning 'victory') gate was built by Maharaja Ajit Singh to mark the defeat of the Mughals. The palm imprints upon these still attract much attention even today.

The museum in the Mehrangarh fort is one of the most well-stocked museums in Rajasthan. In one section of the fort museum there is a selection of old royal palanquins, including the elaborate domed gilt Mahadol palanquin which was won in a battle from the Governor of Gujarat in 1730. The museum exhibits the heritage of the Rathores in arms, costumes, paintings and decorated period rooms.

The third movie of The Dark Knight trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, was partially shot around the Mehrangarh fort. A few scenes included the prison well within which Bruce Wayne is shown to have been imprisoned. There is one particular shot when Wayne emerges from the prison that actually gives a glimpse of the Mehrangarh Fort in the background.

Time - 3:59pm

The new theme this week was to shoot the most beautiful thing around you. I was in our dining room, which has lots of beautiful things, but I've already taken too many shots of that chandelier (+ + +) and I felt it was time for these curtains to have the spotlight ;)

Kind of a gloomy day today, as you can see.

Oh yeah, I made a new set for this today too :D

And a couple other ones. Haha. I like to stay organized!

I need to stop uploading so much haha.

But yeah I should proooobably get off flickr now and go start my homework?

Got a fake college app essay to write for my english class :|

So I'm afraid I won't have time to get around to everyone's streams tonight...I'll try tomorrow though!

Hi guys !

I've been doing a lot of macro recently, micro sorry :) Either one.

I had a small Op - some scar tissue removed and so have been staying inside whilst it heals up, giving me the perfect opportunity to get down and dirty... cough.. with some insects.. or something like that !

I've been working on this design for a while, 2 days precisely :D It sort of just happened.

This setup can achieve 40x, if I can ever afford one that is.

Less vibrations as it weighs an absolute ton and the tripod ensures even less vibrations from the shutter (Still not figured out how to put 550D on silent mode :-D )

All the recent work I've been doing is with this simple and cheap setup.

Remember, its not how good the equipment is, it's how good you are !

Stay patient and twiddle that cog around and you'll get an image worth posting :))

There's my motto for this year !

What's there?

Canon 550D (This isn't included in the price of course)

Bellows £10

Tubes £7

IKEA LED Lamps £10

Tripod (not really needed that much)

Objectives Nikon M PLANs 5x, 10x, 20x (useless)

Some heavy wood I stole from my kitchen top :)

Maplin Motor £7

CD Drive £ Free, just bust open your old DVD Player !

My excellent elf helped me make this. Isn't his gingerbread man the cutest? ;) The other gingerbread man (not shown) is now limping 'cause someone could not resist to take a bite.

Our gingerbread house is usually shared by the kids during the New Year's party with friends and families held in our place. This one is now on display and in 3 weeks, what's left of it will surely be devoured by the kids.

Hope you all enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed taking it!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, my friends!

This picture was taken a while ago and she no longer wears those sexy wedgies but she still keeps them for fulling around ;-)

Single shot, 50 caliber round. It’s the only round that could pierce through a boarded up window so easily and still have enough force to pierce a body. In order to have that force the shooter could only be at max 1500 meters away. Judging from how accurately his shot hit Talia he must have a thermal scope on his rifle as well. It’s likely he has his sights fixed on me, and yet I still race to Talia before she falls to the ground.

No bullet hole in the wall that I can see. It’s likely the bullet is still inside her. With that I quickly sit her down against the nearby desk. She’s unable to say anything, likely a sign that the shock taking effect. I need to remove the bullet but I can’t do it here without the proper medical supplies to close the wound immediately after I remove it, not to mention that the shooter is unlikely to be alone.

”Talia listen to me.”

”Bruce? Wha…..was….”

”Listen to me clearly Talia. You’ve been shot. Your body is going into shock. I’m going to give you this to counteract the pain.”

Before she can object I remove the syringe from my belt and inject her with the painkiller. It can’t do anything about the bullet but it will keep her conscious so I can keep talking to her. The first bit of advice Alfred gave me following my debut as Batman was that you need to keep the victim talking. Granted I was the victim in that case but it ensured that it was a lesson that I wouldn’t forget.

”Bruce….they’re coming for us….”

”I know.”

”It’s him. It’s…..”

”Ra’s.”

”Leave me Bruce…..I’m not worth….it.”

You can tell yourself that all you want Talia, but it’s not true. You are worth everything to me. I chose to leave you once and regretted it ever since. This time I’m not going to let myself make that same mistake.

As I remove a bandage from my belt and help her to apply pressure to her wound, the front door comes crashing down as two figures clad in black enter the apartment.

They’re here.

”Surrender the woman, deserter. This needn’t concern you.”

Both figures point the tips of their blades towards me. A common tactic taught by the League to assert dominance over an unarmed opponent. Allowing them to see your blade in such close proximity to their person often makes them feel powerless and reminds them that you hold all the cards in this situation.

Unfortunately for them, there couldn’t be anything further from the truth than that last statement.

”She’s coming with me.”

One of the figures take a defensive stance whilst the other keeps the tip of his blade fixed on me. Well at least one of them is smart enough to know that I’m not going to let them take Talia without a fight.

“The master commands otherwise.”

”Well I’m sorry that I have to disappoint him.”

The second figure retracts his blade and takes a defensive stance of his own. Judging from their voices and what I can make out of a body shape it appears they’re both male. Thus they’ll likely favor power over agility. The best method to combating power is to simply outmaneuver your opponent. Easier said than done when engaging two opponents, especially when both opponents are armed and you aren’t.

The figure on the left gives a signal and his compatriot makes the first move. Though everything might appear stacked in their favor I hold the one advantage neither of them possess. I was trained by the Al Ghuls, and they prepared me for situations like this…

The days we spent in Dharwad were full of things to do. We had the great pleasure of playing with the children of the primary "Capitanio" school in Hubli, a town near Dharwad, and there we had the best days of our adventure. We arrived with colours, pencils, baloons and sweets ... and the face in the photo just tells you the kids' surprise.

A big hug to all the kids of Hubli - thanks for your eyes!

What's up my Flickr people. How was everyones Christmas holiday? Hope you all had a good one. I apologize if I haven't visited your streams in a while, I've been very busy lately and haven't had much time to come online. I will slowly be returning and checking out all the stuff I've missed little by little.

This shot was taken inside the Hawaii State Capitol. I've lived on this island my whole life and never knew what the inside of this building looked like. When I walked in I was pretty blown away by what I found. Unfortunately it was raining through the big hole in the roof that night and I constantly got little raindrops on my lens. So I am most likely going to revisit this when it's not raining and shoot during the blue hour.

HDR made from 3 exposures in photomatix. Blended 2 additional exposures back onto the hdr to bring more detail to some washed out parts. Where I shot this I had a lot of blurred water spots only on the left side of the image so I did a symmetry flip to get rid of them. This building actually looked just like this with out the symmetry flip. Finished with a layer of curves, saturation, and unsharp mask.

Have a great new years everyone and I'm looking forward to all the photos of fireworks :)

The Stables, Camden Market, London.

Being a beginner and above all a lazy beginner, I would use a lot the 'Intelligent Autofocus' program of my camera, meaning that in many situations, especially in inside locations, the chip would go bananas or force me to use a high ISO, giving an image of poor quality. That's why sometimes I hesitate to post some picture I like but i can't consider technically perfect. Well, enjoy, if you like it :)

Bueno, pues estas dos canijas son la causa de que esté poco por aquí, ocupan prácticamente todo mi tiempo libre (y el no libre también XD) tienen un mes justo, y me tienen enamoradita perdida *___*

The village/hamlet of Dorothy is located about 20 kms SE of Drumheller in a flat valley bottom within Southern Alberta's famed Badlands Country (Dinosaur history). Some call it a ghost town, now considered one of Alberta's classic pioneer communities. There are two abandoned weather churches remaining, this the Roman Catholic twin the subject of many a photograph through the years.

I've visited on occasion, this particular afternoon I noticed a small crew of carpenters in the middle of renovations inside and out, paint cans and lumber scattered on the site. "It hasn't had this much TLC in many a year and is getting a complete facelift" said one of the contractors, as he asked what my particular interest in this old abandoned tourist clink.

I had a more romantic version in my mind, some storm clouds rolling in to dress up the sky, perhaps that glow of late afternoon light bringing the ordinary to life. I'd simply enjoyed nothing but wide open skies and sunshine during the drive to Drumheller.

"Could you paint me some exciting storm clouds oily into canvas, invite a few singing birds in chorus, and subdue the wind I suggested". He laughed, "You can wish for whatever you like, just be extra careful of those floorboards inside, the paint is still fresh". My PEN felt mighty this day, but within minutes of capturing this image, I was huddled inside, the rain now pitter-patter on the quality roof top. I vaguely thought I heard some bird song as I looked through murky windows. Gazing at the waning grain elevator through the scattered rain drops on the window pane, the impressionistic view seemed all the more remarkable. Inside or out, this was thoroughly enjoyable.

I just liked the shapes and wood grain...

This is the floor that we walked on when entering the lower part of the palace. It is wooden so it would be not hard on the horses that entered here also.

New York City's 5th Avenue Presbyterian Church sanctuary. I've walked by this countless times and never went inside until today now that i'm attempting to shoot all Manhattan church interiors. Its a rather unique structure with an interior not unlike the "mega-church" style of today however it more than compensates with an incredible ceiling, balcony, and organ.
