I always feel so complete once I have fully embraced my female personna. My skirt and top combined with my make up, accessories, perfume and long hair simply complete the connection to the feminine feelings I have deep inside of me. The result is one of overwhelming contentment in finally being the person I truly am.
Massive yet elegant, the Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan is considered as the finest piece of early-Mamluk architecture in Cairo. It was built between 1356-1363 and features on the 100 Pound Egyptian note.
Inside the Mosque, the hanging lamps came way down from the ceiling and provided for a very interesting perspective. I also liked how the colours were looking here so chose to stray from the monotone look so far for my Cairo shots.

My daughter Bettina and I stopped for a quick lunch at Pop Burger on E 58th St., New York, NY before visiting the Museum of Modern Art this past weekend. The museum was packed but we had a great time admiring the artworks on display. More photos on my FB link below.

Yesterday, I went on an epic journey of Chicago on a epicly hot day. So we tried to find as many places inside as we could. This was this first one. I had passed by the church many times walking down Michigan Avenue, but had never entered it. The inside is spectacular.

In 1871 two churches merged to form Fourth Presbyterian Church. The new congregation worshiped at Superior and Rush from 1874 until 1914, when it moved to its current location on North Michigan Avenue's “Magnificent Mile.”
Home to wealthy congregants and influential pastors, Fourth Presbyterian soon earned a civic and national reputation befitting its magnificent Gothic structure. Called “a social settlement with a spire,” the church reached out to the poor in the nearby “Little Hell” neighborhood. It helped create the Presbyterian Hospital in 1884, and it seeded sister churches in the city's immigrant enclaves. Social activism continued during the twentieth century, as members tutored Cabrini Green children and Cook County Jail inmates. In 1979 the church helped to create Atrium Village, an innovative mixed-income housing development.
Known throughout its history for preaching, community outreach, education, music, and the arts, Fourth Presbyterian Church has positioned itself as a model for mainline Protestantism in the new century.

Strawberries: While strawberries are surely scrumptious, for me the really tasty part of the shot comes from the sleek steel of my Wüsthof Classic knife. It's quite stunning how much I love using these precision knives, but how little I like cleaning up the mess I make. :)

Eu fiz as unhas de madrugada, pra variar, e o acabamento ficou péssimo! Mas tô postando só pra mostrar como eu sou cara de pau, de sair plagiando as lindonas aqui do Flickr! Essa idéia linda foi da Julia Maciel.
Não deu trabalho nenhum pra fazer! Essa técnica de nailart com esponja de louça parece bem elaborada, mas só parece, viu? Rapidinho tá pronto! Depois de tantas cores escuras nas minhas unhas, achei que deu uma clareada na mão. Combinou com o calor que anda fazendo por aqui. E eu sou suspeita pra falar, pq amo essas cores!

On the walls are large and expansive frescoes that depict battles and military victories by Florence over Pisa and Siena.
The ceiling consists of 39 panels also constructed and painted by Vasari and his assistants, representing Great Episodes from the life of Cosimo I, the quarters of the city and the city itself and towards the center is the apotheosis : Scene of His Glorification as Grand Duke of Florence and Tuscany.
On the north side of the hall, illuminated by enormous windows, is the raised stage called the Udienza, built by Bartolommeo Bandinelli for Cosimo I to receive citizens and ambassadors. Above are frescoes of historical events; among these, that of Boniface VIII receiving the ambassadors of foreign States and, seeing that were all Florentines, saying: "You Florentines are the quintessence".
In the niches are sculptures by Bandinelli: in the center the statue of the seated "Leo X", and on the right a statue of "Charles V crowned by Clement VII".
There are also numerous bombastic Medicean tapestries on the walls, including Stories of the Life of St. John the Baptist, taken from the frescoes of Andrea del Sarto.
The six statues along the walls that represent the "Labors of Hercules" are by Vincenzo de'Rossi.
In the central niche at the south of the Hall is Michelangelo's famous marble group the "Genius of Victory" (1533-1534), originally intended for the tomb of Julius II. The statue was taken from the Bargello Museum.

As per mentioned, Bobbert came with me to the hotel for the 2 nights i stayed there. There was a jar of cat treats right on the counter in the hotel :) He was very confused as to where we were and why we there; in the 3 years that Bobby Joe has been on this planet he as never once been alone, he didn't even get his own cage when he was neutered! I think he missed his brothers and sisters!
Bobbert's favorite color is white, b/c it matches everything he wears :) So all week he has been trying desperately to wear this dress, along with the slip underneath. For obvious and understandable reasons, i have been firm (something he's not used to) all week in saying no. I swear he's mad at me in this photo for not letting him wear it first!! Lol.
It feels good to update after a busy weekend!
I'm going to visit everyone today, I promise!

O Mercado Municipal de São Paulo, inaugurado em 1933, é um importante entreposto comercial de atacado e varejo, especializado na comercialização de frutas, verduras, cereais, carnes, temperos e outros produtos alimentícios. O Mercado localiza-se no centro antigo da Capital Paulista, sobre uma área ganha ao Rio Tamanduateí, na Várzea do Carmo.
O edifício, em estilo eclético, foi construído entre 1928 e 1933 pelo escritório do renomado arquiteto Francisco de Paula Ramos de Azevedo, sendo o desenho das fachadas de Felisberto Ranzini. No interior, magníficos vitrais de Conrado Sorgenicht Filho mostram vários aspectos da produção de alimentos.
O entreposto foi totalmente reformado em 2004, na administração da prefeita Marta Suplicy. A fachada foi recuperada, os vitrais foram restaurados e foi construído um mezanino, de autoria do arquiteto Pedro Paulo de Mello Saraiva, com diversos quiosques de comes e bebes. Graças à reforma, o Mercado é hoje um ponto de encontro dos paulistanos. Atualmente está sendo construído um estacionamento subterrâneo para facilitar o acesso dos visitantes.
