This is an image from inside the building I posted yesterday: www.flickr.com/photos/f1dot8/8588053603
I have been in quite a few derelict buildings before but I have never seen holes in the floor like these.
The light here is a mix of sources: The empty windows on the left let the light in from this huge power station right next to it: www.flickr.com/photos/f1dot8/8090701749/
And the light on the floor is from my torch.

Winter/Morning
I love this part of the morning, especially in the winter when the city slowly wakes up and begins to move about....

"Living is about capturing the essence of things. I go through my life every day with a vial, a vial wherein can be found precious essential oils of every kind! The priceless, fragrant oils that are the essence of my experiences, my thoughts. I walk inside a different realm from everybody else, in that I am existing in the essence of things; every time there is reason to smile, I hold out my glass vial and capture that drop of oil, that essence, and then I smile. And that is why I have smiled, and so you and I may be smiling at the same time but I am smiling because of that one drop of cherished, treasured oil that I have extracted."

Giornata straordinaria trascorsa al "Cuile Piras" di Laura e Salvatore, nelle montagne di Baunei, in una Sardegna selvaggia e incontaminata alla scoperta di gesti e sapori d'altri tempi.
The Italian Chapel is an ornate Catholic chapel on the small island of Lamb Holm in the Orkney Islands. It was built during World War II by Italian prisoners of war, who were housed on the previously uninhabited island while they constructed the Churchill Barriers to the east of Scapa Flow. These barriers connected a series of small islands in Orkney limiting access points to Scapa Flow thus protecting the British naval fleet stationed there from submarine attack.
The chapel was constructed from limited materials by the prisoners. Two Nissen huts (prefabricated steel structures, made from a half-cylindrical skin of corrugated steel) were joined end-to-end. The corrugated interior was then covered with plasterboard and the altar and altar rail were constructed from concrete left over from work on the barriers. Most of the interior decoration was done by Domenico Chiocchetti, a prisoner from Moena.
