I think the Zeemonster is changing substantially, so these are for posterity.

NOS Stronglight 93 with the cyclo-cross bash guard. Off the bike, it seemed like a good idea. On the bike, it's just too heavy-looking. I also had problems with the FD contact. An older NR derailleur, without the later "lip" might have worked better. The bash guard came off.

Because the bash-guard sits in the position of the first ring, it requires a triple BB to run a double crank. Swapping off the guard means swapping out the BB, too.

Pedals are Barelli B-10 with Christophe clips. Fabulous pedals.

These were my grandmother's. None of them work (not that I wear watches anyway) so I'm going to dismantle them and make jewelry. Except possibly the big one - it's quite lovely as is, I'm not sure I want to take it apart.

All that's left is to add a button closure and make the napkins! There might be 5 after all!

Front of the tee finished... it's kind of hard to see the shaping at the waist and sleeves because the stockinette made the whole thing want to curl in on itself.

I painted the exteriors black (Valspar Satin Black) and the interiors a dark green (Valspar Satin Peacock House).

Look at that lush head of hair, not a bald spot in sight!

8 hours of work completed.

I inherited a little-used studio in the basement of my apartment building, and now the long process of clean up begins. This shot was taken after 3 hours of very grimy labor by Giselle and I.

Almost done! All that's left for the countertop is a final smoothing and the waterproof coating. The niche will be finished with wall-to-wall shelves.

Once we got the keys and began working on the house, the kitchen became the dumping grounds for all the tools, cleaning supplies, etc. It is going to be one of the last things we do, so the 'stuff' can stay for now.

Stopping point for Monday night. You can tell it's a bird now. Next few steps will form the talons out of the pleated legs.
