Between the living room and dining room we have these pocket doors. It was obvious they hadn't been pulled out in a long time due to the extensive dust that had collected and the fact that they hadn't been painted in a long time.
So wandering about the city my friend Adam and I came across this guy Sight1 doing a fresh piece near Spadina. We stopped and asked if it would be alright to take some shots while he worked, said it was cool as long as it was non-profit. So here is one of those shots.
I am still looking for this guy to give him copies of our shots, he was a cool guy for allowing us to take shots and ask him questions. His site isn't working anymore so if anyone knows him, pass me his contact please.

I found that my 3/4" chisel and metal files worked much better than sandpaper for smoothing and shaping the cement.
This was my Xmas gift to my sister Claire! It's crocheted in Bernat's Wool Blend (80% acrylic, 20% wool).
The background is cross-over stitch, and the pattern is a cabling technique I've developed that "pinches" the work to create the cables in the same way knitted cables are made. The side designs are front post dc and bobbles.
Bamboo handles.
This is my own design and my first attempt at making a purse. I'm very happy with it!

this and all the pieces tagged with risd and new in this set are part of a project i've been working on for the past couple weeks. response to a poem i wrote about a year ago. i'm still not sure how to present everything . in this set i've put together some different combinations of the same images. there are more images but i couldn't get them all on here for various reasons

I discovered that it was much easier for me to just use my hands (sort of like clay). I wasn't going for a machine-smooth look, and using my hands I could layer the mixture to create a weathered texture.
When this is blanket is finished, it will measure approximately 1 x 1 meter. I still have a long way to go...
There are two drawbacks to this arrangement -
1. The TV is right in front of us - aweful tempting to turn it on.
2. Oh look, the furnace - Isn't it ugly?
I was able to get a little spinning done yesterday evening. I really like
the way the Shetland/mohair roving is spinning up. Hard to tell until after
it is plied and washed, but I think it's going to be softer than the
rambouillet/mohair. The colors are rich and I think, if there's enough,
this will make a really nice vest.
Busy day again yesterday, unpacking Dad and getting his stuff settled. It
was a wonderful day, warm and sunny with a breeze in the morning. The wind
picked up in the afternoon but was never unpleasant. Today is supposed to
be just as beautiful, and I'm hoping to get some bunny chores done. There's
a buck in the barn that is sadly overdue for shearing! I try not to let
that happen; it's not good for the rabbit or for the wonderful fiber that
they produce for them to go overdue. But this past month has been so wild
with moving chores!
I also may try to breed two more does, my lovely Amber and the gorgeous Woolybuns Crystal. Woolybuns Cheshire has a date with and amazing buck at Perfect Spot Farm; can't wait to see how that breeding turns out!
I always keep my shards and uneven random snippets, even the bits that are too tiny,or don't sit upright.
Then the other night I fancied doing some mosaic in front of the telly without causing injury to my family with flying bits of glass - so I figured I'd just jigsaw together my leftovers. So much fun!
