Study Degas' dancer through ink drawing

I've sketched and painted this road in the Upper Gatineau Valley a couple of times over the years from different perspectives. In this latest sketch, the old barn sits on the side of the road surrounded by snow-covered fields and, further away, by a forest. The scene is lovely during every season but particularly in winter when the contrasts are so strong.

J'ai dessiné et peint ce chemin dans la vallée de la Haute-Gatineau à quelques reprises au fil des ans à partir de différentes perspectives. Dans cette dernière esquisse, la vieille grange se trouve au bord du chemin entourée de champs enneigés et, plus loin, d'une forêt. La scène est belle en toutes saisons mais surtout en hiver où les contrastes sont si forts.

Rained stopped play during the sketch and I managed to finish it weeks later.

I rushed out to draw this freshly demolished quarter of the city after a message from a fellow urban sketcher. One of the demolishers came up to see what I was doing.

A local recommended sketching this street. I had to sketch quickly before the sun moved too far.

I didn’t initially intend to draw every medieval brick church on the bike tour, only after the first couple it became an obsession. They look so similar and are always surrounded by trees so I started a series of sketches.

I saw this the previous day and hoped it would still be there when I had the chance to draw it.

There was a forest fire this year.

A crop of a developing sketch I posted a while ago. A lot more detail added and cropped to portrait format. This drawing was developed from an en plein air sketch several years ago

Sketched inside car as it was raining. Bumped into this building online the night before and I had to sketch it. Parked naughtily in a restaurant car park to get this view.

This was a bit rushed and inaccurate.

Les deux moulins du Faouëdic sont les plus anciens bâtiments de Lorient Construits en 1677 et 1719, ils ont échappé aux bombardements de la 2ème guerre mondiale.
